I like how the people of WV ask the government for permission to use their rights.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
Today, March 4 2016, the House of Delegates voted to override Gov. Tomblin’s veto on HB 4145 by a 64-34 vote.
Tomorrow, March 5, at 9:00am, the West Virginia Senate will convene to consider a final vote to override Governor Earl Ray Tomblin’s veto of NRA-endorsed House Bill 4145.
WEST VIRGINIANS: Please contact your state senator IMMEDIATELY and urge him or her to vote to override Governor Tomblin’s veto of HB 4145.
BRIEFLY, this bill means that if you are a US Citizen or a Legal Resident of the US and you can legally own a gun under Federal and West Virginia law, then you can carry that pistol or revolver concealed in West Virginia - no fee, no permission slip from ANY government. HB4145 is backed by Article 3, Section 22 of the West Virginia Constitution. If, on the other hand, a "prohibited person" carries a gun in the commission of a crime, their sentence will be ENHANCED (lengthened). IF it happened to be a DRUG crime, the "ENHANCEMENT" doubles.
Only a simple majority is required to over ride this veto. Barring too much of a final last-ditch delaying tactic by the 'loyal opposition' the result should be known by noon March 5 2016.
STAY TUNED.
