Old gun, is it worth it to fix it?

I have an old harrington & richardson arms that looks to me to be a .38. Made in worcester, ma October 9th, 1935. Has some pitting. Is it worth it to make it brand new and to be in workable condition? Thanks.

I am pretty sure that reconditioning a collectible firearm reduces its value.

Okay, I may want to take it to a gunsmith just to see if it's safe to fire. Wish I knew how to upload a image of
gun so all could see!? Thanks
