Interesting article. Thanks for posting. Combining the open carry walk with picking up litter was a great idea.

Open Carry has drawn criticism from gun control groups that say police, not untrained gun owners, should be protecting the public.
Someone should inform this person that - by and large - gun owners have no interest in protecting the public. What they want is the right to protect themselves, and their Loved ones.

+1 - that was my thought in reading the article. .

Interesting thought though.. There was recently an open carry event in Florida.. They would NOT be allowed to clean up the beach because in Florida you have to be hunting or fishing (or going to/from) to open carry. The law restricts us from the same activity as California allows.. The BIG difference thought is in Florida.. the gun CAN be loaded!!!!

They only gave us that exception for open carry because of certain reptiles and the chance of being attacked. When will legislators learn that BGs are more dangerous than gators, rattlers, and water moccasins?

Ektarr - If the people truly realized that, they'd demand unrestricted 2A rights.

The more gun owners that do it the more common it will become.

Make the entire USA like it was around the year 1776 in New England... Those NOT carrying were the odd ones.

Peace...
