r1derbike New member May 14, 2014 #5 My 3 grit Arkansas stone triangle/cedar stand works great for me. There's something about dragging a blade across lubricated stones properly that is satisfying. Call me old-fashioned, but hearing and feeling the manual process soothes my soul. Weird. That sharpener in the OP is outside my bang-for-buck limit. I can't afford it. I feel like a parrot; I'd never sharpen my knives with a powered sharpener. YMMV
