Hope you find someone willing to help. We all could use some positive press spread around.
Any help from your side is highly appreciated
I could possibly see some small amount of good if a knowledgeable person were to interface with him and could definitely see the bad in a less than stellar representative of "our side" (whatever that means) doing the same. All that being said and based on European laws and outlook concerning firearms, I don't see them being objective regardless of who they were to meet with.Hmm....
I think a logical inference from the words "your side" is that it is different than his side, maybe opposite from his side. Not that that inference should necessarily stop (or even slow down) anyone inclined to offer to take him shooting, but I do think that expecting positive press from such an outing takes an awful lot for granted. It's way up in the air about what can reliably be expected in the way of press from this poster. Perhaps he will clarify, but I expect nothing positive from Euros concerning America's "gun culture." The phrase itself is a euphemism for.... Well.... I don't know what, but I've never felt it was intended as something positive by either American or European media.

I do know that Stern has been associated with the SPD in Germany and have some alignment with Socialist Democratic party supporters. Perhaps they are the exception but I'd be cautious about embracing their "opportunity".
Recommendation would be the SHOT Show which will be going on in Vegas where you will be from the 23rd to the 26th. You will find every aspect of product, training, accessories, and opportunities to shoot that you would ever want to explore. There will be many, very well informed, and responsible firearm owners attending.Actually, in recent time it´s anything but the SPD, but still, of course the German public and media in general is... maybe let´s put it like this: most of the Germans are happy that most of the Germans don´t own a gun.
Anyway, let me shed some light on my position: a story about crazy american gun fanatics shooting guns would be so 2007. A story about a gun-unrelated German really deep diving and understanding some of the on first sight not understandable American appreciation of guns until the point where he has really to challenge some of his own biases and framings... you get it.
Hi all,
For German weekly magazine „Stern“ („Star“, 600.000 print copies weekly, 60 million monthly users online) I am working on a story about guns.
I never fired a gun in my life. Now I want to learn how to do it, understand the fascination, get the idea. Hands on.
I will be in the US from the 15th of January on (Los Angeles and Las Vegas). I would really like to meet a gun enthusiast, preferably near Las Vegas, who can take me shooting, safely, of course. The bigger, the better. And who maybe is happy to discuss gun laws, politics etc.
I´ll bring a photographer for strong visual material as well.
Any help from your side is highly appreciated. I am looking forward to getting in touch.
Best regards,
Friedemann Karig

It's tough to be in a completely occupied country and then go over to a semi occupied one that are still clinging to their rights. It must seem like Disneyland to them. And then it's back to Merkelstan.Saw a group of 5 or 6 young German men at the range during one visit. They were apparently here on business, but came to the range that rents handguns. They rented several different handguns and got instruction from the range staff. They seemed to really be enjoying themselves and probably rented 6 - 8 different handguns/calibers.
I'm sure he'll reward them with an objective article.I took liberty of directing this guy to THR after the local trolls showed up from Hog Waller Holler. He's had about 10 offers to go shooting and was nice enough to comment about how rude people were on "other" gun forums.
Y'all are some top notch ambassadors for the second amendment

I just considered the source. In both cases. The idea that this person was going to do anything but a hit job is fantasy and why do I need to be an Ambassador in the first place? I actually talked with him instead of ignoring his completely transparent effort. Am I a 1A ambassador for just engaging with him? He can keep patting himself on the back if it makes him feel good. He's quite a humanitarian you know.Hilarious. So we're supposed to be "ambassadors" for the Second Amendment to a writer who will be addressing people in a country that doesn't have, and never will have, anything approaching its supposed limitations on government?
Giving the guy a chance to clarify his intentions is considered "trolling" by you. You have given us no chance of clarification at all, so what pray tell, might be an accurate portrayal of your post here? Double-Trolling?
And THR. LOL

I was pretty sure you'd be along to say your piece about Hog Waller Holler and my suspicions of the journalist were for two very baseline reasons. I lived in Europe for a couple of years, have traveled there extensively, and know well their extreme prejudice against firearms. I knew of Stern and a quick 4 minute search led to their cover photo last year of a US President draped in the American flag performing a Sig Heil (which is outlawed in Germany).Well, I have little in the way of knowledge to go on concerning the German writer, but I do know Eidolon's predilection for being beyond cantankerous at the very least, and being a troll at worst. His very first interaction with the board was revealing of his propensities towards fomenting conflict, as was one of your earliest interactions too, but you got over whatever burr was under your saddle. Eidolon, not so much. You'd probably have to read the link in the OP of that thread in order to fully understand how and why the discussion went as it did, but otherwise, the thread is basically just unnecessary argument for argument's sake. I include myself in that evaluation, but Eidolon most certainly contributed at least equally to that thought.
