Confused?

I became confused when I heard the word "Service" used with these agencies:

Internal Revenue 'Service'

U.S Postal 'Service'

Telephone 'Service'

Cable TV 'Service'

Civil 'Service'

State, City, County & Public'Service'

Customer 'Service'

This is not what I thought 'Service' meant. But today, I overheard two farmers talking,
and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'Service' a few cows.

BAM!!! It all came into focus. Now I understand what all those agencies are doing to us.
Now you are as enlightened as I.

Funny, except for public service. That mostly encompasses free volunteer work. I do a lot of it, or at least I did before I broke my back.

Good one O/G. I always thought service was a term used to mean, the giving of one service to help or assist others. No where can I see where any of the mentioned Government "services" serve or give or assist the people. They take from the people, and are often found to be "on the take", but I have never felt I was served by any Government agency.
