Carrying your blue cards - what does the law say?

From Nevada Carry:

That's a good point. I don't know where you could find that information if they were unable to give it to you. I'll dig around and let you know if I can find anything.

Try searching for "firearm" in the Clark County Ordinances:

Or, contact the county clerk to lend you a hand- if I am not mistaken, they're responsible for public inquires into the Ordinances and Resolutions the county has then record. Just be polite and tell them you could use their help finding the current laws on the books.

Thanks Snoopy and welcome to USA Carry! I didn't find anything in the first link but just skimmed through it.

I'll try to contact the county clerk tomorrow and see where that gets me.

I spoke with the Sgt. at the firearms detail today (I must have spoke with a Lt. last time because this person was not the same one I spoke with last week).

Anyway, he was very helpful and as I suspected he did confirm there is no legal requirement to carry the registration card, and there is no penalty for not having the card as long as the weapon is registered. However, he did state they recommend carrying the registration card as it speeds up the process of verifying the weapons registration (makes sense to me).

He agreed to have the lvmpd website updated to correct the misinformation.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm surprised that this isn't codified anywhere. That's at least a small victory.

I'll still be carrying my 4 bluecards around with me in my wallet. I'd rather not "slow down" the process. But it definitely is good to know.

I see this argument all the time. The fact is, each mode of carry has its advantages and disadvantages. It's up to each carrier to weigh the pros and cons and decide whether OC or CC is what's best for them. Just because CC is what I've decided is best for me doesn't mean it must be what is best for everyone else. Just exercise your rights responsibly, and you're okay with me.
