The new Glock G42

I am the proud of owner the newest baby Glock, the G42. I picked it up this afternoon for $319.

I've provided a few pictures for comparison. Where my G22 and G42 are pictured, they are on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper for comparison.

Also, I put the Sig P238 on top of the G42 for comparison as well. They are virtually the same size with about 1/2" extra on the Glock's slide. Also, the Glock is just a touch thicker.

Note, the trigger guard is much more open on the Glock.

The feel is better than the LCP in my opinion.

Here's the G42 next to his big brother the G22. They are on a piece of 8.5" x 11" paper for comparing size.Link Removed

You got the newest Glock the week it comes out and I've been waiting for six months for a 30 S which was introduced at last year's SHOT show! Congratulations. I'm envious. I already have the Crossbreed and 100 RD. of ammo for it, but no pistol yet.

Your gonna love the 30S, (if you ever find one.) got mine last summer it replaced my XDS and it will always be my every day carry. It will fit in19 & 23 holsters but not all, just gotta try them and see what fits.

I've handled the G42 but my 2 cents is: a better G42 would have been a single stack 9mm this size. For the price point Glock will sell a lot of these but I'm staying with my Sig P938 9mm.

The Sig is a great firearm. I love my P238. My problem however, was that I have been trained so heavily on the Glock that my muscle memory is draw and shoot. When drawing my P238, I've failed to release the safety on it more than once, and the gun did not go boom. That's why I picked up the G42.

$319! The price is right! Is that a dealer price or retail? Gun broker had these pre-sold for nearly $800. I must have one, just not at the $800 range.

Howdy,

I'm a HUGE Glock fan and a Glock 23 .40S&W is my EDC but I'll pass on the G42.

Since there are so many compact 9mms on the market today I do not see why anyone would pick a .380 over a 9mm.

At the same time I'm not a 9mm fan and would only own one in a small compact pocket pistol. The only 9mm pistol I own is a Kel-Tec PF-9 and I could not tell you the last time I carried it.

I was interested until I found out it was .380... I'd have been very interested in it if it were 9mm. My Shield is barely larger, and if I were to step down I'd want a significant size difference. Definitely interested in hearing how it shoots, though!

I bet the G42 sells well. People like the .380 and this one is locked breech, striker-fired, and it's a Glock. Will sell well.

Howdy,

After looking at Glock's website I need a G41 tactical length .45ACP.

I have thought about building a 10mm tactical length Lone Wolf upper for my G21SF but my FFR Spyder sucks up all of my spending money.

Wow...great price...and the size HS.....I'm not much for carrying a .380 but would be a nice one for the wife so I can my 938 back. Sweet....definitely a range report is warranted and eagerly awaited.

Congrats.
