I was just wondering what yalls preferences are when using a sidesaddle shotgun shell holder on your shotguns.
Shells facing up? This makes it a little faster to reload but it has the shells pointing at you. I know that the chances are slim, but I am thinking accidental discharge.
Shells facing down? Little slower to reload but it feels safer.
I use a buttstock holder (elastic). I like to keep them brass up, I am afraid of recoil shaking one out. 6+1 buckshot in the gun, 4 -00buck in the holder toward the butt and 2 slugs toward the receiver.
I have used those elastic things but it got in the way of my sling stud. I have since upgraded to a speedfeed stock that holds 4 rounds in it. I like it. You can tell that they thought it through when they made it.
