Man dead after shootout with border patrol in Jackman

JACKMAN, Maine — A border patrol agent was wounded and a man is dead following a weekend shootout at the scene of an alleged domestic dispute.

According to Michelle Benson-Fuller, spokesperson with Customs and Border Protection, agents connected to the Jackman border patrol station received a call for assistance from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department around 7:30 p.m. Saturday in responding to a domestic dispute call in Jackman.
