There are several counterfeit medical devices on the market which resemble the North American Rescue Combat Application Tourniquet (C-A-T). Some of those counterfeits have catastrophically failed during actual life-saving applications.The windlass is weaker in the suspected counterfeit product and breaks or bends before necessary force can be applied to stop blood flow.
