In case you haven't noticed, from 2015 NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits:

MDA supporters are currently loosing it on the MDA Facebook site over the following quote from The Tennessean: 6 things to know about NRA convention:

The hysterical moms think that this means that there won't be any loaded firearms allowed in the show. However, the statement above obviously applies to the exhibition guns only. Lawfully carried firearms will be still permitted in the Music City Center with the proper license in accordance with Tennessee law. Reading the MDA Facebook comments, you can clearly see that none of the MDA supporters know the actual law in TN, the facts about the NRA convention, or any facts for that matter.

They are calling the NRA hypocritical. Yet there is nothing at all hypocritical about Bloomberg wanting to take the guns away from everyone except for his own armed body guards and security staff.

From what I have heard, MDA has scheduled a "protest" on Saturday in Nashville's Riverfront Park. For now, the Riverfront Park is still a "gun-free" zone (i.e. criminals playground). That may or may not change until Saturday. Tennessee's Republican-controlled legislature doesn't seem to have the proper motivation though to enact HB0995/SB1171 (Guns in Parks):

If you look at the bill's history, you can see that this bill has been jerked around by both, House and Senate, for weeks. It is with the Senate now for either approval or sending it back to the committee.

Our ("Republican") Governor has not been invited to speak at the NRA convention and will be visiting Chattanooga and Knoxville instead. As the previous Mayor of Knoxville, he originally supported the exclusion of local parks from the state preemption law. He would be hard pressed not to sign it before the NRA convention.

There were a number of 2A bills on the table this year, including Constitutional carry. Only one made it so far.
