Hi all,

I am lifelong shooting enthusiast, and Army veteran of Bosnia and Iraq. Looking to take the next step and setting up a firearms instruction business on the side in MN. Ive tried searching, but have not seen a clear answer...What state licenses, entities, or similar compliance items are necessary to set this up?

Thanks!

The only legal requirement that I know of is that you need to be certified to teach Permit to Carry classes. It's a really good idea to setup an LLC or other legal entity, which you can do online via the Secretary of State's website, and have liability insurance. If you want to teach NRA classes, you need their certifications, of course, but if you're doing your own programs, you don't need anything official.
