I play wayyyyy too much zombie games. I definitely wouldve drawn and popped him in the leg first at the very least.

At the 2:00 minute mark you can definitely see the guy in the green pants start running, but then he stops, turns and presents a gun.
The guy is damn lucky he did not get popped!
It was stated earlier that there are "No such things as zombies", which is technically true, however there are some really messed up people out there. Some are mentally diseased and others are messed up on drugs that are not even meant for human consumption.
Take for example the incident in Miami, the guy (zombie) has been alledged to have been messed up on "bath salts". In his psychotic state of mind he attacked a homeless man and literally ate most of the guy's face except for his goatee.
If I saw someone coming towards me that appeared to be that messed up I would certainly perceive my own imminent danger.
In the case of the idiot in the prank video, I would have stood my ground and told him to STOP in a very loud and commanding voice and would most likely already have a combat grip on my pistol in its holster. If he did not stop I would have continued to yell at him to STOP and would draw the weapon. One more step toward me would immediately reward him with at least 2 center mass.

That says enough. You admit to playing too many video games, and still argue whether zombies are real. Before you get firearms training, you have a lot of growing up to do first. I have a feeling though, you are just another troll in this last wave of them.

I could not have said it better. I'm not going to run, due to wear and tear I can't. For your sake I hope you never end up in a self defense situation. While you are trying to take out their knee you are going to either get shot or miss and then get shot. I pray I am never in that situation either, but if I am I will do all it takes to walk away from it, including making sure the threat is down for good as quickly as possible.

With everything that has been in the news I would have drawn on him pretty quickly. If he got a warning before I drew on him would depend on how fast he was moving toward me. If he got a warning after I drew would depend on how close he was to me at that point. So I'd give plenty of warning if I could, but the last thing I'd do is give the guy a chance to get close enough to do me any harm. I believe that might put me in a legal predicament in Utah if the guy was unarmed, but I'd rather be a handsome jailbird than some junkie's chew toy.

I carry a less than lethal backup taser. In any situation when I am not sure of level of true danger or intent I will not just pull out a weapon of deadly force as my first option. What he is doing is illegal in several ways from silly prank (low level assault) to to premeditated assault with intent depending on your local prosecutor's cajones and will to make a public safety example. One guy may do this for YouTube stunt, the next for assault, mugging, rape or worse. As dude squirmed beneath the draining batteries of my taser and waved away the pepper spray if he tried to get away before cops arrived so I could press charges he would consider his foolishness many times over.
Remember, you may be legally justified under the SYG laws to use deadly force but your weapon puts the surrounding public at risk and it sure as hell will end you up in civil court getting sued for every penny you'll ever earn by a greedy grieving family that will never comprehend deadly force being necessary against their poor fun loving "Johnny" who had alway been the light of friends and family everywhere...(think Tre'vonne the little gangster sob in the making who tried to harass the wrong old guy. A little pepper spray, retreat and reconsider deadly force would have changed the course of both lives dramatically).

Go to a range that allows draw. Make sure some is there to start the target towards you as its flipping back and forth and you turn draw, focus aim and hit a four inch circle 'knee' target with precision. Now imagine you have as much training as cops on the beat who range shoot regularly and don't know if the next citizen will draw down on them for no reason or comply....now look at statistics of these brave men and women under pressure and look at how many shots are fired vs shots connected with intended target under extreme pressure. You will feel silly...if not, you are not fit to carry a weapon.
God gave us brains as well as trigger fingers.
Your worst day at the range will be many times better than your finest real life response in the field.

I don't know where you obtained your training (New Jersey? Massachusetts?) but if I were you I would ask for a refund.
