Zombie attack prank what would you have done?

Don't know if I would have shot him... I'm still pretty spry. I definitely would have probably clocked him with something, stick or otherwise. In a previous career as a mall security guard, I saw this behavior a few times. Most of the costumes have tells as to their realism... And since I live in a state with no "Stand Your Ground" and a duty to retreat; shooting him may be excessive.

Personally I would have tried to escape him by running away...
If I could not escape and he kept coming towards me in a threatening manner, I would have emptied my entire canister of pepper spray into his face, eyes and mouth areas.
If the pepper spray failed to stop this nutjob and this dude started trying to 'gnaw' on me, then and only then would I have been prepared to pop a few caps into his zombified a$$.

I would not have drawn on him as he presented no real threat. But I WOULD knock him out. What the hell people, there are no zombies. And one doesn't need to "draw" on everyone who presents a threat. Deadly force is to be used when the IMMINENT threat of deadly force exists or IMMIMENT threat of bodily harm of such magnitude as to assume significant injury would occur.

Exactly right. You retreat if you can--if you cannot you kill him. Any reasonable person could presume an imminent danger of death or great bodily injury when faced with a lunatic--just like the laws in South Carolina ask of me as a CCWP holder.

Dressing like a zombie and jumping out to scare people is one thing. He was chasing after them. If you come after me like that I will back away as quickly as I can and let you know exactly what's going to happen if you don't get the hell away from me, especially if my kids are with me. If you keep coming my gun is definitely coming out of its holster so you can see it. If you still don't stop you're getting shot.

I know people do stupid things sometimes and I will put up with a good bit of it but as I get older my tolerance for morons like that gets lower.

I would have done what a wild elephant does. One fake charge straight at him. If that gives him pause, then I know he's not a brainless zombie, just a brainless dumba**. If that didn't work, draw & fire. The fake charge was his only warning. He doesn't get to enjoy any other show of force. Just the muzzle flash.

Have you seen the news lately? I'm pretty sure we all know there are no zombies, but there are more than enough crazies and junkies out of control out there that this behavior should be considered an imminent threat, specially if being pursued. At least that is how I look at it. Like I said in my previous post, I would attempt to retreat, but would be ready to fire to protect myself or my family.

You can't fix stupid, but he might get it shot out of him due to his behavior. What on earth makes him think it is acceptable to scare innocent strangers like that?

If it was really a zombie would it matter whether I would or kill? When I cap it in the knee and it turns out to be an idiot in costume, I'd probably spend a lot less time in prison than I would if I killed him. Don't be so gung-ho to kill right away.

Nice. You cap him in the knee, guess who would be responsible for his doctor bills for the rest of HIS life?

Not sure I would have shot but the sight of my gun sure would have given him pause. These old knees don't carry me very far very fast these days.
