Zombie Apocalypse..

Ok so I somewhat understand the humor in this new Zombie Apocalypse rage that's going around these days. However, when I walk into a Subway talking about military policy and combat with a friend and the first person who overhears us butts in "hehe oh hey are you talking about the zombie apocalypse?" it kind of makes me not want to live on this planet anymore. Does the American population no longer realize that we're currently engaged in an 11 year war and with the world's current state of affairs it probably won't be long until another breaks out?

Our society has been intentionally dumbed down, and been made to be complacent by ridiculous reality TV programming, digitization of books in order to be more easily regulated, and violent video games. You are therefore surprised by a rude eavesdropper?

NOPE! The MSM doesn't allow it. When my son-in-law was in Afghanistan I had to get any news of what was happening over there from the internet. MSM in USA philosophy is "it ain't news until we say so".
Hence no mention of Libya in NYT over the weekend.

I'd be pissed just that some random person invaded my bubble enough to jump into to my conversation

Zombie Warning in Connecticut!!!!

One person was quoted as saying “I got a call from a friend of mine from Florida last night who said, ‘Mark, get out! If it’s not the storm, it’ll be the aftermath. People are going to be fighting in the streets over gasoline and food.’”
Now some liberal editor makes this the headline of the story.
Why do I know it was a liberal?
A) Connecticut
B) The Anti Gunners always say that if everyone carried gun there would be killings over parking spaces. Why? Because they themselves have thought about killing over a parking space.

And the editor didn't even get that right. What the resident said was "a friend from Florida called and told me...".

Anything to sensationalize the story. Gore and mayhem sell papers!

There will be an apocalypse aka Armageddon and it's coming to a neighborhood near you in the not too distant future. The only zombies will be stoners and those who have refused to read the writing on the wall.

I live in CT, south eastern CT actually where it is somewhat normal. Good hunting, fishing and conceal carry is accepted and normal. I still don't like it though, the rest of the state is full of liberal nut jobs, worse as you get closer to NY. I find that talking about the ZA is a good way to get friends and family to start to consider being prepared for any bad scenario. Having said that, all my friends and family just respond by saying "I'm coming to your house". I don't think they are joking.....

I disagree wigman. I'm in the NW corner and for the most part, ppl up here in "the hills" are open minded. So saying its "worse as you get closer to NY" isn't exactly true.

I do agree about the family and friends comment though. All my coworkers and family tell me "I know where to go when the SHTF". I respond by telling them bring food, water, alcohol and more ammo. LoL.

You’ll find that most people and family will laugh at you for being prepared and talking about mass riots that might happen, but we all know these are the first ones to call and say “I know you have prepared for this, can I come over for protection”. Sounds a lot like Chicken Little doesn’t it? If only they would take a good long look at the possibilities of what might happen and act accordantly and prepare themselves.

Turbofx4, Not sure if I made my opinion clear. I observed that the closer I get to NY, the more liberal people are (not in a good way). However, in the NW of CT, you are near Mass, so maybe the crazy has spilt in to the NW of CT (I don't get up there much).

As far as what you tell you friends, I say the same thing. I have often thought about some sort of SHTF co-opt for CT. People who have thought ahead and can work together. You know, something like combining resources such as land, weapons, tools, food, knowledge, skills etc. I'm a good example. I have a lot of "stuff" but a average house with little land. Someone else may have a secluded piece of property, but not a lot of "stuff"...if the time comes, which I hope it never will.

Just a thought...
