Your thoughts on the best holster for a CZ52 (vz.52) pistol?

I have a vz.52 (7.62 mm pistole vz.52 / Česká Zbrojovka, Strakonice) pistol and also the parts kit for it (the one with the green box with the top that slides off). I like it a lot. However, I really would like to know from those of you in the know, what would be the best carry holster for this. If you have more than one recommendation... fire away. :yes4:
Thanks, and looking forward to your thoughts.

I may have just found an answer to my own question... while poking around on some other gunboard / forum I found someone who mentioned this:

Apparently all the Ross Leather holsters listed on that page fit to CZ52 (vz.52) pistols.

Also I found something on thehighroad forum that more or less said the following:

"Uncle Mikes "Super Belt Slide" Size 20 fits a CZ-75, CZ-52, and 1911 style guns"

So I looked it up...

Interestingly they are not openly marketing a size 20 on the site but when you click on "shop now" you get a link that sends you to a place where you can buy a size 20:

That's two concealed carry holster options for the CZ-52 pistol.

Curious if anyone has a holster preference for this pistol (these above or any other?), if so please reply to thread.

Did anyone have any other ideas for best concealed carry holster(s) for the vz.52 pistol? If so please post here. Thanks!

Poke around some of the older threads and see what they have listed. I will sound like a broken record but. Three speed holsters elastic strap comfy and can wear anything. Alien holster double clip very adjustable good price built well. M82 pro comfortable adjustable. These a few really good options

I sent this comment on Sept. 21 to the Alien holster people:

"Do you have a holster that works with the vz.52 (7.62 mm pistole vz.52 / Česká Zbrojovka, Strakonice) pistol, a.k.a. the CZ-52?
This gun will fit in a size 20 Uncle Mike's Super Belt Slide w/I.L.D.
Someone recommended your holster so I thought I'd ask. Thanks and looking forward to your reply."

I finally got a reply back from the Alien holster support team....

They said,
(from [email protected])
"Unfortunately, at this point in time we do not offer a holster for that pistol. However, we are constantly adding new product and may offer this in the future. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Have a nice day!"

Ah well... looks like the Three Speed or alternatively, the Uncle Mikes "Super Belt Slide" Size 20 are the best options for the CZ-52 pistol.

Thanks for the tips!

Your response made me remember that I had recently seen an ad for Versacarry and I wondered if it might fit the CZ52 pistol. I e-mailed the company and they responded back pretty fast.

I sent them the following question:

" Hello, can you e-mail me and let me know what size and type of Versacarry holster if any would fit to the CZ52 pistol? This pistol is also known as the vz.52 (7.62 mm pistole vz.52 / Česká Zbrojovka, Strakonice) pistol, a.k.a. the CZ-52.
This gun will fit in a size 20 Uncle Mike's Super Belt Slide w/I.L.D.
Thanks and looking forward to your reply."

This was their reply:

"Right now, we are not producing any products for that particular gun. However, we do intend on adding many more products to our line in the future, so be sure to check back with us for updates on new releases!

Thank you,
Versacarry

I think I am going to stick with the Three Speed or the Uncle Mikes "Super Belt Slide" Size 20 for the CZ52 pistol.

you can make your own, fairly easily. slosh some bleach inside of an empty gallon milk jug, to kill the sting of spoiled milk. empty out the bleach and cut open the jug. Use your wife's hair dryer or borrow somebody's heat gun to flat out the plastic. Use the heat to fold the plastic around the gun, cut off the excess material, and use Chicago screws from the hardware store to fasten the welt. do NOT use the heat to 'mold" the plastic to the gun's shape, unless it's an outside the pants rig. In particular, don't melt the plastic into the trigger area, making that area wear thru the plastic when you practice your draw. Affix velcro to the outside of the rig, on a "flap' and matching velcro inside of your belt.

You'll have to use the heat source to form a "sight track" inside of the rig, or the front sight will cut a groove in the top of your holster. :-) Carefully round and polish all corners, for comfort and affix some suede or other sort of padding on the flesh side of the rig. Dye or paint the plastic as you wish. Or contact some source of Kydex plastic, for material that's made of an acceptable color for you, all the way thru

The holster suggestions have been made, so I won't comment on that. However, are you planing on using the vz52 as a CCW piece? I ask only b/c 7.26x25 a pretty hot/zipping round for situations where you generally don't want over penetration.... I owned one, liked it a lot for its history but didn't consider it a appropriate CCW pistol. I'll have to look into some ballistics tests with JHP though, perhaps it isn't as bad as I think with that round....

Yes ~ thanks for the tip. I have heard this pistol is not the most ideal as CCW (many seem to cite the overpenetration as an issue). Still, if it's all you have (and in California for many of us, it may be - it's still recognized as C&R) then it's doable, there are DIY Extreme Hollow Point Maker Kits available from Sportsman's Guide and elsewhere for the 7.62x25 caliber, or reload and make your own, plus there are options from Reed's and also S&B, and others... see (long) discussion on that here.

Curious if you have done ballistics tests recently with hollowpoint rounds (either purchased or handmade) for the 7.62x25. If rounds standard were used for comparison please also provide notes. Thanks gunnerbob, Cheers

This holster is one that I also want to try out with my CZ52. It has some nice magazine capacity.
It's called the 'Brave Response:'
