Your opinion of the Bersa firearm

What is your opinion of the Bersa Thunder 380 or their Thunder 9 Pro Ultra compact?

Love my 9UC. Not 1 malfunction in 500 rounds. A little heavy and wide, but IMO a great looking, great fuctioningz and most of all great value gun. I'd own another in a heartbeat.

bersa 380

I love my bersa thunder 380 double stack. Its a little heavy but not much for recoil and accuracy is great. I conceal carry on hip and Fanny pack with it.

I have the 380 and have had no issues with it at all. Defenatly not a pocket gun but a great single stack gun. Have put close to 1k rounds through it. Good gun for the price when I got mine 6 years ago.

I love my Bersa 380 plus. I carry in an IWB holster or sometimes on my ankle. Its a great pistol and the price is right. Id recommend this pistol to anyone. Has a lifetime service agreement for original owner. Quite a few models to choose from. One for everyone. Get tons of info on them at Bersa Chat Forum - The Front Page

Had the .380 Thunder CC. Very affordable, well-made, but it stung my hands with the recoil, so I switched to a Walther PK .380. If you don't have wimpy hands, it's a great gun, easy to conceal, very reliable.

I've carried the Thunder 380 for months and have put several hundred rounds through it with not a single complaint.....I love it.

Love my Bersa Thunder. It's got a great grip and shoots very well. Never had a single failure to feed or extract.

Well I guess mine was the lemon. It would shoot FMJ's fine but did not like HP's. Would always misfeed. I really did like the way it felt in my hand but it was heavy for its size. It may have been a good gun but I had no confidence in it being reliable and traded it for another gun.

Thanks to all who took the time to answer. I have decided to purchase one. Next step is to go to area gun shop(s) to check them out. I used to have a Walther PPK/S which I foolishly sold 12 years ago to a friend. Twice he has refused to sell it back, so I guess it's time to move on. The price of a new one is prohibitive to me as I am on a fixed income (retired) so the Bersa looked good as a replacement. Now I have to decide on which Thunder 380 to buy. I am leaning toward the Plus in nickle. I have large hands and the slim grips like the Kel-Tecs are not comfortable. I haven't held a Plus yet, but will probably do so tomorrow. Again, Thanks for your time and opinions.

Bought my wife the Bersa Thunder 380...shoots well, no problems at this point, handles well, fires accurate...I'd recommend in that caliber...I carry a Beretta PX4 Storm Sub...looking at a Bersa .40 as a secondary.

Bought my wife this gun...excellent weapon...when I fired it, it beat the web of my hand up...my 9mm PX4 Storm SubComp had less recoil than the Bersa 380 lower caliber....my wife shot well with both...but yes, I too got stung by the Bersa recoil.

I shot one last weekend at the range, ordered a new Thunder 380 nickle, yesterday, don't know about the CC model but the standard size is a riot to shoot and if this guns recoil bothers you better stick with a 22

Excellent end to what had been a very polite discussion.

I ordered one for a customer, was in terrible condition when I recieved it. Excessive rust, and the saftey was so hard to operate it almost took two thumbs to operate. I took it apart and cleaned it and reworked the safety. Now it seems to work OK, as he has not been back with issues. I was not impressed with the initial impression, however people seem to like them.
