hello everyone, i am a regular target shooter and in a few weeks i am able to apply for my class a ltc. i have completed my pistol course and filled out the application and made my appointment and so on. all i am wondering is if younger shooters such as myself have a harder time acquiring their class a. i am a college student majoring in poliics with a minor in criminal justice. i will mot likely be interning with the ATF this winter and i have stated this on my application. is there anything else i can do to improve my chances? thanks again for your time

is there anything i can add to my application that could improve my chances of recieving my class a the first time?

If you want to significantly increase your chances, I would speak to a firearms lawyer here in PRMA. They will be able to look over your application and really give you some good advice on your application. If you don't want to go that route, then you need to have good reasons for wanting one. I know we shouldn't have to do that since it is our right as a law abiding citizen, but thats how it goes here in PRMA. Let me know if you want information on firearm lawyers, I have a bunch.

Thanks,
Capo

just an update, my interview is this coming tuesday morning, my papers have been dropped off at the station and im ready to go. im assuming business apparel is acceptable/recomended for this?

I went in Jeans and a shirt with a collar. Shouldn't be much trouble providing they are a firearm friendly town. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes. What did you put for reasons? Just curious.

It all depends on the chief of police in the town in which you reside/apply. I've not heard any bad or good things related to CLASS A LTCs being issued in the town of Norwood. Dress for success when going for the interview.

Even with the CLASS A LTC there are restrictions that can be placed on it that could prevent you from carrying the firearm concealed in or about a public way. MA is one of the most hostile states for firearms owners. Youth will in some cases, have an effect on the outcome, again it depends on the chief.

Make sure you get out and vote on Sept 14th for the MA primaries. James Mckenna for AG.
Jim McKenna Attorney General candidate opposing Martha Coakley Lets get that rights trampling moron Martha out of that office and out of MA politics for good.
Throw her out on her a$$, She can land on Devil Patrick for a cushion.:sarcastic:

Good luck and post with the results.

Peace...

thanks for all the encouragement guys, i am preapaed and will dress for sucess. the reasons i gave on the application and in a paper attached to it were that i am persuing a careeer in CJ, i target shoot, i am applying for a membership at a gun club which mandates that i have a liscense and i would like to compete in PPC events. if there is anything at all that you suggest i add please let me know
