Yellowstone Volcano Eruption in 2014? Are Animals Are Fleeing Park As 'An Alert'?

I saw a program on the Military channel talking about this and from what I saw it really doesn't look good if Yellowstone blows it's top for the world.

If there is a major explosion of the Yellowstone volcano it will virtually wipe out most of the area west of the Mississippi, or at least render it uninhabitable.

When, not if, Yellowstone blows it will not only make West of the Mississippi uninhabitable, but would disrupt most of life in the US. I just hope it does not blow in my lifetime or my kids!

But I would bet that if there are still "global warming" nuts still out there they will blame the eruption on "global warming"!

You are correct Eidolon. The qualifier is "RECORDED HISTORY . The Yellowstone caldera dwarfs anything in recorded history. The second listed volcano left a hole 3 miles across (no number was listed for number 1). Not even 1 tenth of the Yellowstone caldera. Of course it has been over 600,000 years since Yellowstone blew her top. I don't know how badly it would affect the western United States but I understand that we in Utah are toast. And we are upwind. It would be like nothing in recorded history. And the effect on weather, well, I'm glad I'll be toasted. I don't really want to be one or the survivors scrabbling around to survive.

I watched a show on this recently and the scientist narrating the show said that everything within a 200 mile radius(100 miles in each direction) of Yellowstone would be leveled. Everything within a 1000 miles (500 miles in any direction) would be devastated. The winds would carry the volcanic dust around the world(from west to east) and could cause another global disaster, as it would block the sun light and just about kill all life as we know it. Few plants would survive, most animals would die as well as human eventually. Large parts of the planted could be covered in a blanket of snow, ice, and glaciers.

SR9, The show I saw talked about the volcanic ash that it would put into the atmosphere and would then spread all over the globe would eventually land on the ground to a depth of a few feet and after that the rain from the thunder storms caused by this effect would turn the ash into a type of concrete. To say the lease we'd be toast. Mankind couldn't survive and there wouldn't be any relief for around three years afterwards.

If the Yellowstone caldera blows it's top that would be an extinction level event

I don't have the link available, but this was debunked quite thoroughly. Pictures were taken of normal migration and the implication was made up of whole cloth.

Most of us who live here in Wyoming don't give this much thought. Far too many other, far more important things to deal with on a day to day basis. IF Yellowstone erupts, it will affect most of the country, and eventually even most of the world. Nothing anyone can do about it. There are natural disasters just waiting to happen anywhere on earth.

It's practically a non-issue. For the time being there's nothing that we can do to predict nor impede it. People should worry more about being spiritually prepared for any life-ending event.

If God wills it then why worry? And for the atheists out there, if God doesn't exist then what does it matter anyway?
