Yahoo has dabbled with this in the past, but today's offering is one of the best reasons why I have been staying away. Two articles published today blatantly attack our Second Amendment rights.
The first was a Business Week article in which Justice Stevens declares the need to amend the Second Amendment by adding 5 words: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms when serving in the militia shall not be infringed." He is of the opinion that,
The second article was an article from The Week magazine with the title, "Ban the Second Amendment." The author uses the usual 32,000 deaths number as a jumping off point, and then makes the statement, "There is no longer any defensible argument for a constitutional right to own a firearm, if there ever was." Th article is filled with logical problems, one of the worst being that we are a "liberal democracy" in which the majority decide how things should be run. But as Thomas Jefferson observed, “We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.” We are not now, nor were we ever intended to be, a liberal democracy. We were meant to be a Constitutional Republic.
And then there is the third article from Bloomberg that lampoons concerns that if illegals are legitimized, gun control will be all but certain, because there will be 8,000,000 new hispanic voters that will back it just like they have done in California - which used to be a red state, once upon a time, If Guns Are Illegal, Only Illegal Immigrants Will Have Guns - Bloomberg.
I am pretty much finished with Yahoo.

“federal judges uniformly understood that the right protected by the text was limited in two ways: first, it applied only to keeping and bearing arms for military purposes, and second, while it limited the power of the federal government, it did not impose any limit whatsoever on the power of states or local governments to regulate the ownership or use of firearms.” http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-02-20/gun-control-and-the-constitution-should-we-amend-the-second-amendment
