Getting my first true carry handgun tomorrow. Finally decided on the XDm 3.8 compact in 9mm. Been going back and forth between it and the M&P for awhile now but just keep liking the way the xdm feels in my hand. Both seemed to shoot very well for me. Unfortunately, with my job it makes it very difficult to carry because of prohibitions at certain places, ie courthouses, hospitals, etc. but looking forward to having my permit arrive soon and having the new pistol.

I have the XDM 3.8 in 9mm--regular grip length. Love it! Shoots soft, incredibly accurate, great design for take-down and cleaning, and reliable! Can't go wrong with these guns

Congratulations! I have the XD9 Compact and my wife has both the Compact and the sub-compact. Of all out guns the XDs are our hands down favorites. She carries the sub compact with the extended mag in a CC purse and I carry the compact in a leather belt holster. You will love the XD and its ease of takedown & cleaning.

Congrats on your new carry gun, I currently carry an XD-40 Sub-compact, and use to own a XD-40 full size when they first came on the market under the XD name. Sweet shooter with many upgrades you can make if you chose to go that way, if not the gun is great right out of the box!
