My father gave me a P-38 form WWII. It looks fine but any ideas about quality of war time production?

Not an expert by any means...but I once owned one from the WW2 era. That was the pistol that enlightened me to the DA/SA action design, that I carry to this day.... I had always been a SA (1911) guy...my father's favorite pistol choice. as well as I often carried one when I was still active duty Army...

I really liked the way it operated, and the safety features of carrying in full battery condition, including the 'loaded chamber indicator'. But it was really a little too large and heavy for practical concealed carry. It sure was a good shooter though, and very reliable.

Good luck...
