Exactly how did you do a NICS check on the internet on yourself?!? Listing what state you are talking about also helps.
The only wrong information on an nics check would be put there by you. If you think you have to run a background check to see if you are a prohibited person you best stay away from a gun store until you clear up your own confusion. A little white lie on a 4473 is very costly. Look at the 4473 online, search batfe form 4473, all the questions you need to answer are on that form. It is kinda like a computer...if you don't know what the answer is and the computer asks if you are sure you want to answer that way, it is time to stop answering questions and go find out what the facts are from someone that does know the answer. A law office would be a place to start as well as your state police barrack. Never say yes if you know the answer to be no and vice a versa. If you feel you are a prohibited person contact a lawyer to see how and if any prohibitors can be excised from your record. Many states have a mechanism that can allow most prohibited persons to have firearm rights restored. Lying on a 4473 is a federal felony which would be a lifetime ban after conviction so do not do it. You will get caught!

You either are very confused or have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You do understand that NICS quite frequently denies persons wrongly all the time? That is why there is an appeal process.

Wrong, you need to read my link in post #3. Info is always screwed up when it goes thru multiple parties. I have yet to get the same answer from any agency spokeperson or individual. It is always a little different. At the time of my purchase of a pistol, a FBI agent that I knew only thru a one time introduction years before was denied outright prior to me. He had come into pick it up 2 weeks after. I took him that long to get his record cleaned up. Mine took much longer. but I got my Firearm that day, 5 days after I paid for it. Now with my UPIN, same day I pick up my weapon.
Ya know what fella...your post sounds like you were doing a "background check" on yourself over the Internet. For what purpose. Your post could mislead someone into thinking they can check their background info on the Internet. Can't be done! Now then if you want some poor sucker to spend time in a federal prison go ahead and do all the silly ass Internet checks you want. Someone will read your op and think he can check the Internet for prohibitors and if he comes back clean he can tell the federal court that his Internet check came back clean and therefore he shouldn't be sentenced to five years in prison because he read it on a gun forum. Does this clear it up a bit. Your op said nothing bout upins.
Maybe my saga will help. This is what I did after a delay in buying a firearm.

You clearly do not read very well or very thoroughly. Go back and read my post again and see if my statement said "don't lie on a 4473". My god this site is full of dullards too. Instead of jumping to conclusions as you do simply jump in a pile of crap. You may come out smelling better at the end.
Funny, I fill in parts of the 4473s almost every day. The form doesn't stop where the buyer signs and dates. It goes on for another page and a half plus. Part of that info is part of the NICS check info needed to get an Approval ( A ), Conditional Denial ( CN ), or Denial ( D ). And like others, we've had permit holders, cops, and corrections officers denied atleast temporarily due to the NICS check system problem. A system crash of the computer database will generate a CN and a 3 day wait at minimum. No one enters data but me?
Does antone know how to correct wrong information on NICS firearm check.I did a check over the internet and the answer I got had about 7 different alis besides my name to of them were my sons , but the others were unknown>
