Wounded Warrior - AntiGun!

I listened to both shows on Tom Greshams guntalk. The WWP ceo only confirmed that what Tom was saying and understood was fact. The WILL not let their logo be present at any fundraiser that is associated with the firearms industry. They cited return on investment as the reason. Tom offered to cover the cost for an event and they still refused. They list firearms (now stated as "weapons") on their website along with porn as industries not to be associated with.

That says enough for me. A different Wounded Warrior organization will get my money this year.

Can I suggest The Warrior Foundation or a similar organization?

Some friends and I work to raise funds for The Warrior Foundation during the holidays. This foundation supports wounded veterans (from all around the U.S.) that are being treated in Southern California facilities. They provide funds for airfare, accommodations, transportation and much more for family members to come visit their warriors. With this help, they are able to focus on their loved ones rather than the logistics of getting to and staying in the area.

They also use funds to send ambulatory warriors home to spend the holidays with their families. Last year they raised enough funds to send EVERY ambulatory warrior home for Christmas... great cause, great foundation.

The scoop from Gun Talk, where it all started:

The 'response' from WWP, which sounded to most people like a non-response, and was thus considered as nothing more than back-pedaling:

The Carity Navigator rating for WWP. They aren't as bad as some charities, but that massive public relations campaign they run means that less than half the money they collect actually goes to the veterans they're supposed to be helping:

A list of some other possibly deserving charities that was linked at the forum thread cmhbob linked above. There are others to be found as well:

These charities have been mentioned by others:
Hope For The Warriors
Fisher House Foundation
Armed Forces Foundation
USO
Homes for Our Troops
Operation Support Our Troops
Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
The Navy SEAL Foundation

As I stated on another forum I will not support ANY organization that is anti-gun.

There are plenty of other veteran organizations out there.
