Would you carry a 22?

Would you carry a 22? If, so which one?

It's not something I would recommend to do on a regular basis but having something to defend yourself with is better then nothing.

Once in a while when I'm out in the wilderness (woods/trails), I carry a .22 in case I encounter a beer can that needs a hole in it or a rabbit I may want to eat. You have more tendency to do a little plinking out in the woods and a larger caliber can get pricey. If I'm going into the city I'll have a .40 or .380 tucked away. I feel safer out in the wild that I do in civilization, and if I really needed it I think 13 rounds of a .22 could catch some attention.

I always carry a .22 when I need to dispatch vermin.

I always carry a .22. American arms .22 Mag. It's the only thing I can put in my pocket that doesn't try to pull my shorts down. I have the plastic fold up grip that makes it even more comfortable; and safe. It's just too HOT in Florida to be wearing clothing that will hide a bigger gun.

I agree with several others that say it's better than no protection.

I keep a Taurus PT 22 (Taurus Owners Unite!) alongside my .45 for whenever Illinois get CC. You have to be a really good shot, though. Hit the head or neck, or a magazine full in the chest and then beat feet out of there!

Maybe stretching the 22 a little I would have no problem carrying a 22. The only problem it's hard to conceal an AR 15. hey the bullets just a few times longer and one look at it would make the bad guy think twice.

I carry a Beretta 21A Bobcat, Inox, every day. Small, light, no recoil, easy to conceal and accurate. I've been criticized for carrying a small caliber firearm, but when I offer to put one or two into the chest of the person doing the criticizing to see if their criticisms are correct, they ALWAYS refuse. I wonder why?

I have carried a Ruger Mk III on occasion, and I also sometimes have a Ruger Single Six Convertible with the .22 Mag cylinder in place. They are not my first tier guns (or even second), but I do not feel unarmed with them.

I have carried a North American Arms Black Widow in .22 mag. At the time, it was the only pocket size gun I owned. I have since moved up to a Kahr PM9
