I am having a hard time finding or locating anyone who has a set of wood grips that would fit a Stoeger Cougar 8000F 9MM. I checked the Beretta web site but did not see any for this fire arm. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I searched eBay and found 1 set of English Walnut with the Cougar logo for $89.95. Here is the link, I hope this is helpful to you.

You can probably find suitable sized slabs of almost any kinds of fancy woods from a number of knife supply people on the web. Texas knifemakers & Jantz Supply come to mind. Then find a good local woodworker or cabinet maker. Or do it yourself, just cut away the parts of the wood 'that don't look like 'grip'.

The problem is i live near three different counties and everyone I have spoke to is not interested in making any for me. Thanks for the link Bob. I wonder if those are true wood grips they kinda look like plastic. I'll just keep searching.

For that price, they SHOULD be real wood. Besides, the description does say.......

Product Description:

Brand New • Factory Beretta Grips • Checkered Wood

Also found this web site talking about the Stoeger Cougar and the Beretta wood grips from CDNN.

Grips are not hard to make. I've made several sets for my 1911s. You do need some equipment though. I use a jigsaw, a drill press and a dremel to fashion mine. With out those tools it would be difficult to get a quality job.

If you decide to do it yourself -- a lot of the more exotic woods can produce breathing difficulty if the dust is inhaled, a really good mask is in order. ( Cocobolo comes to mind.) As for finishing, many of the woods will polish out just beautiful without a finish coat necessary, a good paste wax is all you'll need to finish them. ( Hogue's fancy wood grips are all finished with just a coat of paste wax.) I've talked to Hogue about this before - some of mine needed a little sanding to adjust the fit.

Try the Gun shows! Almost every Gun show I have been to has a booth selling grips! I don't know if Las Vegas is bigger than most but they come here!
