I looked forward to the day Wisconsin passed ccw. Gov. Walker finally got it done, thank you. That day was a great day for the citizens of Wisconsin and I believe law enforcement . I live in north east Wisconsin, just a short drive from lambeau field. Most of but not all of the rank and file cops I work with believe in ccw. Those that don't are uneducated. I took it upon myself to educate. I think about 90 percent agree with me now. Next problem was getting every body who wanted a permit a permit. Their were several places in in the Green Bay Area offering classes. The price I believe was too expensive for alot of people to get their permit. I have been the firearms instructor for my dept for 20 years. I did some checking and found out I was able to teach the ccw class. I taught it for cost, and I can say to date i have graduated over 300 people who I can now call friends. My reason for writing this is to let people know a lot of cops are in favor of ccw. We appreciate those of you who train and are diligent about ccw. If your going to carry, carry every day. Your brother in arms Mike

I am a private citizen who has my Wisconsin CCW. I carry every day when I'm not going to or from work (my place of employment is a GFZ). I have a secure lockbox in my vehicle, but don't feel the need to have my firearm with me for the ~ 1 mile drive only to keep it locked up all day in the parking lot). I know thise who do, but this is my choice. Otherwise, I familiarize myself with my firearms, am diligent about care and training, and train and educate myself and my family. I also try to educate those around me when the topic of firearms ownership and CCW is being discussed. There are so many uninformed and uneducated (and dare I say, uneducable) people out there. Some who are so intelligent in their own right (physicians and other professionals), but who are so misguided on these subjects. It's sad.

I thank you for your support and work. I do not know many LEOs in my area (I am a recent Wisconsin transplant), but from what I have heard, many are anti-2A. My
town tends to be a nice shade of blue. Here's to hoping I never have to find out.

I lived in Wisconsin 20 years - Wisconsin Dells area and Green Bay area - now in heaven (Florida) where I belong. Wisconsin is a very partisian state - some of the most staunch constitutionalists in America and the most liberal. Madison Wisconsin has been known as the "Berkeley" of the Midwest. It's a tough place to live but has a lot of tough people. Good luck.

Helps to know that at least "some" law enforcement is on our side. Not that way where I am. I live in a college town and this place is full of sheep and socialist indoctrination specialists. The local police act more like gestapo than public servants at times. It wasn't that way 30 years ago.

Give LE a chance

I know everybody has bad LE experiences. In Wisconsin CCW is new. As a cop I work everyday making sure my fellow officers are educated on CCW. It's been over 2 years now, guess what no CCW permit holders have killed any cops. I always tell LE officers, don't worry about the law abiding citizens who obtain their permits legally. The ones you need to worry about ones who are already carrying.

This was a Must Post and a Must Read. Thank You all the way around.

It's refreshing! Maybe you can swing our police chief...luckily for us, only one of his officers is anti. And guess what, he's a Minnesota resident...no surprise there.
