FINALLY! A place to take the family where you won't have worry about the kids being approached by Gay/Lesbian Recruiters.
 
Joined five years ago, has 80 posts... that breaks down to an average of 16 per year, or 1 every 22 days and this was one of them??? Wow, could you have skipped this one fnsmoak? No one would have realized that you missed your 22 day hiatus for a 44 day hiatus.

I'm fairly new here and have not posted all that much. I don't yet know the different people here and how they behave. I saw this post before anyone replied to it and just rolled my eyes; I was not quite sure if this was the attitude of everyone here. I'm Christian and very conservative so you will not find me at or near any pride parade anytime soon. I'm glad to see the reaction from others in response to the original post.
 
I'm not a christian and I'm not a homosexual. I subscribe to the belief that you should just let people be who they are. Do heterosexuals "recruit" people into their lifestyle? No. So why does anyone think homosexuals do? There is no evidence to support that statement. I have known, and continue to know, several gays and lesbians. Guess what? They are normal people just like you and me. (Perhaps I wouldn't include some posters here in the "normal" group)

Sorry if this goes off in an unintended direction, but Christians (in general) piss me off. They claim to be followers of the teachings of Jesus, but they tend to be the most judgmental and unforgiving people on earth. Let me just state, for the record, that I don't lump ALL Christians into this category. This is a broad generalization, but one that I find to be true more often than not.
 
I used to be super anti-gay marriage and all that jazz. Then I thought long and hard about why I felt that way. Part of it was my religious beliefs but once I started really getting into firearms and working to protect the 2nd amendment I had to stop and look at how I viewed other things. Guns make me feel safe in the fact that I have the right to protect myself and my family if need be. That makes me happy. Guns make me happy. Shooting guns makes me happy. In my "pursuit of happiness" guns definitely make my top 10 list. Who am I then, in the pursuit of my happiness, to deny this right of happiness to any fellow man or woman?
Being sort of on both sides I understand and can see each clearly but when it boils down to it how can I stand up and say yes for my happiness and no to someone else's?

My original objections to homosexuality were religious. With lots of assistance from the Catholic church, I gave up religion and became an agnostic. No religion, no reason to care about other people's private, adult, consensual sexual behaviors.

I find other males profoundly sexually unattractive. What do I do about that? I don't have sex with them.

That's the same attitude I demand of people who don't like guns. If you don't like guns, don't OWN one. If you don't like gun owners, don't have anything to do with me.

It's worked for 40+ years, but then I don't have any great desire to run other people's lives.

I guess I'll never be Mayor of New York City...
 
I am not a homosexual and I am a Christian. Despite these characteristics, I, too, subscribe to the belief that you should let people be who they are. I say this to point out there is a fallacy in your argument. Believing that you should let people be who they are and being a Christian versus not being a Christian are not mutually exclusive beliefs.

Being judgemental and unforgiving are traits of the person who started this string of posts and the statement of the person who responded with a not so logical, but equally judgemental and equally unforgiving, response to said post. I don't need to identify these people, they know who they are.

But, I won't judge and I will forgive, because that is what true Christians do. The forgiving happens now. The judging happens later and the judging has nothing to do with me as I am not the judge.

Thank you for believing that I can be who I am.

Glad that you asked. Who'd ever have thought that Russia would have a higher standard of sexual morality and family values than America? Homosexuality is being pushed as normal behavior even though the Bible, common sense, medical science and nature testifies that the practice is unhealthy and that this practice is abominable. The perverts not only want their lifestyles to be tolerated by society they now have become obsessed with brainwashing and bullying society into accepting their perverted views as being normal. Some think letting them out of the closet was good for society but the name on that closet was Pandora's box. Their unhygienic and promiscuous sex practices are now helping to spread deadly diseases all over the world. Trading truth for lies and calling darkness light and good evil on a world scale is a sure sign that we are living in the Last Days where there are no absolute truths and everyone just does what is right in there own eyes. Judgment soon comes after evil people become a law unto themselves.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter (Isa 5:20).

I think that most who fear gays recruiting are also those who fear they might get recruited - it is like they are afraid they will be tempted, that somehow they find that lifestyle attractive and powerful. Most don't realize that gays would not be interested in their homely ass any more than the cute girl next door would be. My only beef with gays is that they seem mostly anti-gun. I believe in live and let live -if they support my rights, then I will support their's. If they try to curtail my rights, then they are on their own and don't deserve my support.

Bill O’Riely of Fox News had a segment concerning homosexual unions as to the law. He stated if one uses religion concerning these issues you are going to lose. If I quote my Holy Book, if I quote the Quran it is still a no win. The Pro homosexuals even have sites, where they attempt to debunk the Old and New Testaments concerning this. That genie is out of the bottle just as the Affordable Care act. The homosexuals are here to stay, always have been with us just legitimized now. That 3.5% have the news media, the White House and the Senate.
