Went to the local Gun Show this past weekend. I told her I would buy her a CC purse, she would have to purchase the accessory. She settled for a S&W Mod 642 with a Crimson Trace Laser. A bit pricey, but she now has taken the next full step. It's taken a few years from the initial planting of the seed to fruition but I am proud of her. 2 CC's are better then one. Now will have to find a good holster for those days she wants to OC. Which will probably never happen but I thought her finishing the process of defending herself would not come to fruition either.
Another armed citizen makes me feel even more secure. ConGrats and respect to all the women that walk the walk.

That's so cool! Happy for your wife that she has a loving husband that cares for his wife's safety. Right on, Dude! :yes4:

Congrats to her. Now encourage her to take several training courses and shoot to build confidence if she doesn't already.

Same here. Went to the Austin Gun Show and my wife picked out Ruger LC9 with Crimson Trace. Will take CC class over Christmas break. She is very excited. Next dog we get she is going to name Ruger. Glad we are not having anymore children.

Congrats to all of you! I'm still working on getting my wife to that point. She's glad I carry, not so convinced that she needs to.

Explain it's merely a tool, a tool of survival, but it's just a tool. You won't always be there covering for her.

Congrats on the first step! Many women don't feel the need until they are put on the spot. I would suggest you attend a Refuse To Be A Victim course that would help her learn how to not be a target in the first place. It is often a great place for ladies to learn to spot trouble in the first place.

If you're in the Austin Area, I teach small CHL classes and have several planned around the holidays. I also teach Ladies Only CHL classes for those who are intimidated being in classes with a bunch of men. You can find out more about them at Link Removed

Good for your wife.

both me and my wife have been dead set against guns for years, 2 years back my wife gets followed by 2 guys in a car trying to get her to stop her car. She keeps driving and gets to a police station to report. Never heard anything on these guys, but she was so darn scared that both of us went out the next day , bought guns and took our training. We are avid shooter and conceal carry every day. Our city has had an enormous amount of house break ins lately. Multiple offenders, beating people, assaulting women and robbing. We have 3 dogs and alarm system and 2 carrying people in the house. I hope I never have to fire my gun at anyone, but also am not afraid to defend and protect myself and wife.

Unfortunately it takes that kind of shock to bring citizens to understand that YOU and YOU only CAN protect and defend your Life and those of your family, friends, and innocents.
Congrats on taking the responsible actions to "Protect and Defend" against the BG's. Train as much as you can and when you feel comfortable, train some more. Know your State Laws and act accordingly. ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT being put in a body bag.

My wife's first firearm was the LCR 38p she loves it, I just got her a 709 slim 9mm and she is learning how to properly use a smaller semi-auto. She was always good with my glock and sr40c but has a little problem with the 709.
