Why I Carry the Nano

Good via sir! Love the Nano. I carry it myself. Sometimes in the winter I'll carry my Glock 19... But it's usually my nano. I have the OD Green version. Reliable and Accurate.

How does it feel when shooting it? I ask because the grip angle looks close to 90 degrees.

I looked closely at the Nano but went with the Kahr PM9. Why? Three reasons. First, and most important, the Nano just didn't fit right. It's a great pistol but just not for me. The second reason, and just as important, is that the PM9 did fit me. The third reason? Simple economics. Kahr gives NRA Certified instructors a discount on one purchase per year.

^^^^ that's nice, I hope yours is a good one.
with kahrs it is 50/50, some are good out of the box while some need to be sent right back home for repairs. and the PM runs about $200 more than a nano, so you're really not in the same ballpark, but thanks for your input.

as for the nano I just bought a used one today, I've been to the range already and I am somewhat pleased with it. the only complaint is the very long trigger pull and then the follow ups are long as well. I was shooting S&B 115 range ammo and shot 50 rounds not 1 ftf,fte or any other kind of fail.
this is not a target/range gun and I shot from 2 -15 feet mostly point shooting and it shoots where you point, aimed slow shooting at 15+ feet was very accurate for a small gun, recoil is not bad. all in all it should work into the rotation well after I get a holster for it.

I've got a CW9 and the PM9. Both performed flawlessly through the break in period. With the NRA discount, the Kahr PM9 was cheaper than the Nano.

Walther PPS has most of those features (minus the de-cocker which would be nice) but doesn't have that damned long trigger pull. Guns with those bug me 'cause I pull the sights off dragging the trigger that far.

I'm glad you like it so much. Personally I would never carry a weapon with such small caliber/capacity combo as a primary. I would never feel comfortable knowing I only had 7 rounds especially if its only 9mm. I've also never been a huge Berreta fan. I've got a 92fs I use to keep proficient for my annual pistol qual. But I don't really enjoy shooting it. Same thing with my dad's Px4. I hate the ergonomics on that gun.

you do know that many studies have concluded that in the majority of gunfights only about an average of 3 rounds are fired

Key word being majority. I can think of three recent cases where homes have been invaded by 3 or more armed people. When you have 3 people coming at you with guns you're telling me you wouldn't prefer to have more than 7 rounds?

the operative word was CARRY if you are in your home maybe one would think that you'd have access to other weaponry, the data is valid for confrontations on the streets.
thanks for your input

That would be important IF you could guarantee that your gun fights would always be in the "majority."

in the NYPD study of officer involved shootings it is the majority. how many huge shootouts do you ever read/hear about? 99.9% of shootings on the street involve only a few shots being fired

And what year was that study done? So, what about the others? If I knew where and when I will need my gun, my life would be a lot simpler. Carry what you like, I've carried what works for me for the last 39 years.

A case in point, there was an assassination attempt on the strip, in front of the Bellagio. Many shots fired by both sides. 3 dead, several wounded.
