Why I Carry A Gun

Why I carry a gun.

I don't carry a gun to kill people. I carry a gun to keep from being killed.

I don't carry a gun to scare people. I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.

I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid. I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

I don't carry a gun because I'm evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the world.

I don't carry a gun because I hate the government. I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.

I don't carry a gun because I'm angry. I carry a gun so that I don't have to
spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.

I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone. I carry a gun because I want to die
at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

I don't carry a gun because I'm a cowboy. I carry a gun because, when I die and go to Heaven, I want to be a cowboy.

I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man. I carry a gun because
men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.

I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate. I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.

I don't carry a gun because I love it. I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.

"Police Protection" is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves. Police do not protect you from crime;
they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'.

The guy has 3 post's here. Is it your contention that someone should do a search everytime they want to post something to make sure YOU will not be bored with it?

You are a miserable human being. What is your problem?

Why don't you lay off new posters, and everyone else for that matter? If your mother knew what you were posting, I'm sure she would put you in time out and give us a break once in a while.

Can I have her email to suggest such action? Grow up will you?

These topics/posts occur at a minimum of monthly, some of which occur weekly....

How long can I keep magazines loaded without wearing the springs?
Carry condition I SAO or not?
Handloads for self defense?
Tell a police officer or not about my permit/gun?
Can I get a CCW permit if....?
OC or CC?
Open Carriers are bad people because...
I drew my gun today because....
Why do Rich_S and nogods even carry guns, seems like they would never use them?
If AE50 (or whoever that was) did not get banned; Where's your CCW badge?

I'm sure there are more...

I suppose it would be fair to post a warning about "The OC Gospel according to NavLtCdr" to the unwary also. Simply reading, say, 10% of all of "Nav's" post should cover the topic thoroughly enough for anyone's satisfaction. (Any more would only be redundant.) LOL!

Wait a minute, here. Aren't you doing EXACTLY the same thing Treo is doing? Reading his repetitive posts and then complaining about them? Why don't you take your own advice, practice what you are preaching and just not read Treo's posts? Wow, talk about a pot with a twin kettle!

It is funny that this thread has gone in the direction it has. I was cruising around a few sites that are firearm related and on one there is an entire thread about this site and the way people are treated when a uninformed person asks a "Dumb" question. Most responses on that site were that others felt the same way and will not visit this site due to the way they are treated. Me personally, I don't care what anyone says to me or about me because I can take care of myself, but it seems to me that no matter what the question, some people on here just love to belittle others. Most threads turn to something opposite of what was originally asked and turn into a childish schoolyard squabble. Me, I find it entertaining so please continue all.
