Why Do you think we will need to take up arms?

I like the show Doomsday Preppers. I know many on the site are gathering ammunition and firearms for a time when they will need them.
The reasons can be many. Groups of people can have the same thought based on the information presented to them locally.

My Sister, Who has a long military Intel history says our focus needs to be on Iran detonating a Nuclear device over the United States.
*Note, Over, not in.
Truth be told, this would be a nightmare.
Many think there will be a collapse of the economy.
Some are getting ready for a natural disaster, like major earthquake or super volcano.


What is your idea of what is going to happen to make us take up arms to protect ourselves and/or to get what we need for our families.

IMO by the time it actually happens it will be far too late to do any good

I don't think Iran has the capability to deliver a nuclear payload with enough yield to cause an EMP of the magnitude required to disrupt widespread electronic infrastructure. That's assuming it would ever get here in the first place. Even if several were lofted within our borders, small geographic areas would be affected.

Fallout from the blast(s) would be a hazard.

I hope we never have to find out, as this may escalate as one of those "shots heard 'round the world", possibly. Game over.

Because God Who Knows The Future Controls The Future the answer is very easy...the Rapture. "We the Church" won't be here! It will be the overnight disappearance of millions of Christians worldwide that will instantly trigger the global economic collapse, extreme panic, chaos and the breakdown of all societies. Only "WE the Ignorant People" Left Behind will have to take up arms to get what is needed for their families survival. What are you going to do to prepare? How does one go about preparing for the end of civilization, as we know it? Store up food and water? How long will that last? Buy some guns for protection? So you can be the target of soldiers, kicking your door in during the night and tearing your home to shreds, searching for the firearms they know you have by jack-booted thugs, gleeful about the authority they’ll be given over the populace, and who’ll be free to steal and rape and kill to their dark heart’s content. Knowing that "Mans Wisdom Is Foolishness To God"..What’s the point kemosabe?

Some of those people are really out there. One girl says a fuel shortage will cause economic upheaval so she's bugging out to Mexico. What? Mexico will have fuel? She'll be walking to Mexico with a large backpack.

I'm more concerned they'll sneak in a small nuke through the unguarded Obama-to-Freedomland border.
