why and when to carry?

Thanks. Getting some good feedback from this site already. Feel more emboldened to take "her" with me wherever now.

Always carry my primary and backup every day when going out the door. When in the house, I have one, if not both either on me or within arm's reach at all times. Even if getting mail or putting out garbage or working outside, one is on me. If going into prohibited location, pistols are locked in glove compartment or vault. Just wondering, from your post, have you given "her" a name?

Now i have a question not really sure where to post it. On the application at the sheriffs dept they ask WHY are you looking to apply for your ccdw. Ive been told many times they do not like when you put down for personal protection. what do they want you do put down has any one had a problem with putting down personal protection? and if so what is a better reason to put down Thank

Never seen the "Why" question on AR CC app. Maybe because it's in our State and Country's Constitution? Might be a good answer! If personal protection is disagreeable to them.

Just bought my XD. Not sure when to stick it on my belt. Live in a quiet and relatively safe area. When do other of you pack?

Yep, nice in the FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY aren't ya. You just keep believing it'll never happen to you and hopefully and God's blessing you 'll never be challenged. BUT IF YOU ARE EVER challenged, you'll at least have the the option to at least engage and interject verses just laying there and bleeding out. YOUR CHOICE, your protection, you saddle it on your shoulders, OR don't.

Let me ask you a few questions, and I think you will have the answer you seek.

When do you need a spare tire?

When do you need a belt?

When do you need keys?

Every time you leave home...

Where you live does not exempt you from someone wanting to take what you own and willing to kill you to get it...

Look at all the bedroom communities where violent crime is committed...You see the people being interviewed on TV and what do they have in common..."Nothing like this ever happened here"

I don't carry at work because it is prohibited and I value my job and like it a lot. I know I take a calculated risk by not carrying.

Any other time I leave my home I carry.

It's like lacing up the boots. I am a land surveyor, self employed, so I carry my firearm everyday, concealed. I just have to fashion my day to fit the purpose of the survey. Of course if I am surveying public school land the gun stays at home, not even locked in the car. If I need to go to a courthouse, my daughter isn't 18 yet, she has to go in with me. When you become more comfortable carrying a deadly weapon you will probably begin to carry everywhere. Enjoy and be safe.
