Who uses a shoulder holster?

If you use a shoulder holster tell us what kind of gun you carry and why you went with a shoulder holster.

:triniti:

I'm thinking about a 'Black Hills Leather' shoulder holster. They have a 15% off code through their facebook page valid until the end of Nov.

I just went a different direction, after thinking about a shoulder holster. I had some Cabelas points & credit to burn, plus I wanted to sooth the pain from the election with some gun stuff. I added a 5-11 'holster shirt' to the order. They get pretty good reviews overall. I know it's a little deeper cover, but I was looking there anyway. Just something to have a gun along, but totally unseen. Anyway my plan is 1st to see how it handles lighter guns, & maybe just stick with those, P238, LCP, Glock 26. I will work up to my P2000sk once I test the lighter ones out.

I use my shoulder holster with my Sig P228. Only during jacket weather. Usually if I want something I can just throw on and go with. Otherwise I usually just strong side carry in my IWB.

I got mine from Mackenzie Holsters and I got the James Bond 007 for my PPK I love it very nice and very comfortable.. I am 6' tall 250 Lbs and I love the way it fits.. Link Removed

I carry all my conceal guns in shoulder rigs cause I have bad hips and anything carried on my hips hurts after a very short time. Been that way for years. I've got Uncle Mikes to custom made rigs. All took a long time to get adjusted just right but once there, I don't think there is anything as comfortable to carry with. But that's me.

Now that the weather has change to cooler temps, I'll be CC'ing with my shoulder rig more often. Miami style set up, weapons parallel to the ground. Can't really OC with it knowing that the person behind me at the local check out counter is looking down the barrel of a .45 ACP. Jus wouldn't be right. BG's would get that sight picture, innocents shouldn't have to. Jus saying.....

sourdough, I use the 5.11 holster t-shirt in black with a v neck to carry my LCP. The pocket was a little big and did not hold the LCP exactly where I wanted it so I put a few stitches in it, now it works great. I'm happy with it and would like to have one in white but they are a little pricey.

I have about every holster ever made. I have one of these and it works very well. I carry a PX4 .40 cal. sub compact. If you are not familiar with that gun it is a large double stack sub. I carry 24 / 7 including when I am home. It is very comfortable and when I am lounging around I loosen it up. I do were a modified tee shirt under it, to cut down on a little of the chafing ( I am the sensitive type ). The more you wash this the softer it becomes.

I took an old, too small tee shirt and cut it down in the front so that you can not see it with a button up shirt. I hacked off the sleeves and cut the bottom off at the waist line so it does not get tucked in.

I also sewed in a pouch on the other side for two spare mag's.

The material is pretty high tech and does not make you sweat even here in Florida.

Hope that helps

I used the Galco Miami Rig for my Springfield XDM .40S&W when I was very heavy and hip holsters were uncomfortable and downright painful when driving. The shoulder holster fixed that but I have since lost much weight and now OC with a Safariland level III. Even so, a shoulder rig is always more comfortable on long trips in the car. Some ranges do not allow you to carry with a shoulder rig while on the range.
