Who makes the best Night Sights?

With so many on the market and each one claiming to be the best just what are the best brands? I have researched the hell out of it and narrowed it down to two brands trijacon and meprolight. I'm looking for user feedback on the sights any and all information would help.

im in the same boat as you. lots of reviews, but all claim to be the best. i look farward to seein what others say, and hope to find the best for the right price. also somthing to add. has anyone used the new laserlyte with trivium night sight in the rear next to the laser?? kinda a cool idea as well.

They both seem real good, and the Trijicons that come factory on so many pistols have a good rep.

This will be my next purchase for my Glock.

This is what I have on mine.
TruGlo Tritium & Fiber Optic Night Sights
Big Dot Tritium Front,24/7 Tritium Rear
Glock factory installed Trijicons

I like the TruGlo sights the best due to them looking the same day or night unlike the Trijicons white in the daylight green at night.

Damn you Pokey!! Oh I will be following you in buying one for my Glocks. What color green or red? This sight seems a bit better then the Xs Big Dot sights.

PS. Thank you, Pokey for the recommendation of TAS Pistol Sights.

Pretty sweet huh.......I saw them recently and sure thought they looked like a winner.

I reeally like the trijacon site sI had installed on my RIA1911A1 Tac. Very easy to see and align in the dark.

Well I cant seem to find the trijacon's for the ruger SR9C. They have them in the meprolight so thats what I'll have to use on my wifes gun. I think I'll throw them on my M&P as well. Has anyone used them? I hear they are sold and marketed by kimber is this true?

Night Sights - a great investment for self defense

Trijicon provides a good sight system that will run you $80 to $100. This is the brand used by most law enforcement. You can see tritium sights with no ambient light, the half life on this type of sight is 10 years, which means in 10years the sights will be only 1/2 as bright as new sights. Some shooters are still satified with 10 year old sights because they are still visible in total darkness, some replace between 7 to 10 years. These sights can be installed by a user but most gun stores that carry these sights will install them for a low price. I perfer this type of sight because the three dot system is used on most modern semi autos; if you have more than one handgun they will be very similar aiming and shooting between standard and tritium sights. I have one handgun with a laser sighting system that I also like, however the laser is of very limited use in bright sunlight and more susceptible to jars, and hard bumps.

Just got the TAS in the mail, realized it is ONLY for Glocks. Anyone want to buy it for cost and i will pay for shipping? THe thing looks amazing, I only wish they made it for USPs

I had an opportunity to compare the Trijicon Bright & Tough Night Sights (just installed on my Glock 27) with the TRUGLO Tritium/Fiber Optic Sights on my M&P 40; here are some of my impressions.

Low/no-light conditions: both Trijicon and TRUGLO do very well with their green dots and appear to be about the same brightness.

Indoors: Trijicon worked better for me due to their white dots contrasting a shy bit more than the TRUGLO green dots. The white dots also had appeared more crisp. The TRUGLO green dot's brightness/contrast depends on the available ambient indoor light being picked up by its light pipes.

Outdoors: Hands down, the TRUGLO green dots just popped. They were really bright and this is where the light pipes really shine. Trijicon's white dots were more than adequate and were just fine.

Both the Trijicon and TRUGLO night sights were of high quality and definitely an upgrade to the stock sights of the G27 and M&P 40; I highly recommend either one of them, which of course is contingent on your particular needs.

The Glock 27 is my primary concealed carry and due to the nature of my work, the majority of life threatening situations will most likely occur indoors. So for me, I'm favoring the Trijicon over the TRUGLO. For outdoor run & gun events, I definitely favor the TRUGLO.

A note of consideration: the design of the Trijicon rear sight is squared off as opposed to the ramped design of the TRUGLO. Heaven forbid if my left (non-dominant) hand is injured during a firefight, it would be easier to perform a one-handed racking of the slide using the Trijicon rear sight against an edge.

I use trijicon tritiums for my Glock 19, dual green in the rear sight and red for upfront. I found that sight aquisition with the red up front help me more in a "point and shoot" situation, they also help in sight shooting in the daytime. There is no visible glow before sunset, i hope this helps.
