who carries a backup

I've been known to OC a Glock 19 with a Glock 26 as a BUG in a shoulder holster. Its more of an incase some goes for the open firearm they wont get too far. 2 extra mags each for a total of almost 100rds.

I just carry one firearm. I can't think of a reason to carry two. For one thing, I highly doubt I will ever need the first one, much less a second. My primary carry weapon is very reliable and I do carry a second magazine so I will most likely never need a second firearm.

Thank you! I'm pretty sure if you need a backup, you may as well kiss your butt goodbye. Personally, I would much rather keep track of 1 firearm train and depend on that firearm, rather than trying to maintain control of 2 or more.

I am with OG...My main carry is a G23 and BUG is a Bersa 380...I might end up in a war-torn area in the middle of the night (NoT!) so I also carry two extra mags for each gun and more in my tool boxes. Hmmm....but wait! -- crimes happens in daylight too.

I always carry my Bersa .380 on my ankle and sometimes my Ruger SR40c on my belt.I'll probably carry the Ruger more frequently in the winter.

Two points. 1. Is this thread written in english? 2. The real question is "how many out there have actually used a backup firearm for defense?" Hopefully, if anyone is interested in replying, they will be truthful--completely truthful.

@kelcarry...maybe it is English. His original question is....tada!

Never needed it yet, but then I haven't used my accidental death policy yet either...but it's there in the off chance I do.

Nope! touch wood, I haven't killed anyone yet but I nearly drew when I saw someone joking at my husband once last October when St. Louis won some baseball game against Texas...I gave him a warning though...If he picked that gun up from the seat of his truck, he would have got it from me...

I carry an angry duck as backup. They're extremely distracting to any potential foe, giving me ample opportunity to react appropriately.

There are instances where a "back-up" or second firearm DOES make sense..... For instance, in my case, my normal main gun/firearm is a 5 shot .357 snubby.. I also carry at the same time a Taurus PT22 as a varmint (coons, possums, etc...) gun, as a .357 is just too much power for that role, unless of course, you WANT to see a "possum 'splode all over the place..........

What IF that ONE firearm you are betting your life upon breaks? Then YOU can kiss yer butt goodby anyway, right?

I have NO PROBLEM 'keeping track" of MULTIPLE firearms (at least 2) and Knives (usually 3) , Kuboton, keys, pepper spray, etc.... that I have on me at all times (well, when I have clothes on)

Am I "smarter" than you because I can "keep track" of all of these things at the same time? I dont think so..... I think you just need to do some more thinking on this subject and gain some more confidence in yourself and your skills....

I usually only carry my 1911 with spare mags, but if I go to the city, I will carry a bug, cuz you never know when the SWHTF! I guess I am luck that I only have to visit those places (cities) a few times a year! My biggest worry this time of year is that it is bear mating season! NEVER get between a boar and his sow! If I am walkin in the woods I carry my 44mag with spare 300gr GCFN cast bullets.
