Who carries a backup

I wanted to know how maney of yall out there carries a backup firearms. If so what is the best thing to carry?

Depends on your situation

If I carry a BUG I prefer to carry something that is compatible w/ my normal carry. For instance, a CZ75B and a CZ 2075 RAMI. both in .40 S&W so I only need one type of magazine.

I usually carry either a Sig P250 in 45 or a 1911 as my primary and a Kahr CW9 as my backup

No back up in this Texas heat, just my .45 in my Smartcarry in the summertime. Although in the fall and winter time, I do have a back up. The .46 is IWB and my Kel-Tec .380 is riding on my ankle.

Main carry is a LCP .380. The back up's are Bond Ranger 45/410 and a North American Arms .22.

I usually carry my Taurus 24/7 OSS .45 as my primary and a PT140 or M&P .40 as a back up.

well, as a bug i carry what i have, namely a beretta 21a, in .22, and loaded with cci stinger [better than most .25acp]. i know its not much but i only own 2 handguns, the primary is more than enough, 4" ruger police service six .357 mag. and im a very good shot. i also will carry only the beretta when deep conceal is necessary.

Yes, Sig Sauer P238.

What's the best? I don't know what the best is for you...but I'll chime in what I did to pick mine.

1. Same manipulation as my primary firearm.
2. Needs to fit in my pocket comfortably.

It came down to the Sig p238, khar p380, sw bodyguard. I chose the Sig due to the highest quality, though all three are very nice firearms. I eventually picked up an LCP for my wife as well.

If you can do what treo said, where the magazines are interchangeable for your firearms, that would be very good as well.

It's not a backup as much as it's a reload....anti gunners will love that. I say screw 'em.

I just carry one firearm. I can't think of a reason to carry two. For one thing, I highly doubt I will ever need the first one, much less a second. My primary carry weapon is very reliable and I do carry a second magazine so I will most likely never need a second firearm.

i can see carrying back up just in case some one got possession of your more noticeable gun.........but like someone said it probably a rare thing to happen but it may happen
