Which 22lr pistol will shoot most any cheap ammo with the fewest failures?

I have the Walther P22 and the Sig 1911-22 and after about 500 rounds of CCI mini mag through each, they now pretty mush handle anything. You will still get the occasional FTF, FTE unless you stay with some higher velocity ammo. The one thing I did find about my two 22's, I need to keep them clean to reduce these issues. I always clean after every range visit.

My Sig mosquito shoots everything I've put through it. Start getting a few misfeeds when I get to 5-600 rounds without cleaning.

I had the Walther P22 but didn't realize that it needed to be broken in...thanks for the advice guys.....I'm leaning towards the Taurus 94 revolver or the Smith and Wesson (if I can find a goot deal on one!!!!!)...Thanks again

Revolver! Scorp don't know what you did to your mosquito but everyone I've ever handled has FTE, FTF, FTC etc... Pretty much every failure imaginable when using cheap ammo. You my friend are lucky. The owners manual even says to only use CCI.

I have a Ruger SR-22 better than The Sig Mosquito ( use that one for failure drills) then the second one is ISSC M-22 (works well with CCI miniMags).

that is my experience...good luck

Every semi .22 I've owned has to be cleaned after so many rounds dosn't matter brand of ammo. Some brands as few as 100-150 rnd's and a high end of a 1000 rnd's, but only the old ruger was capable of that, but that was the exception usually 300 -500 rnd's and problems begin to appear and time to clean the weapon. Revolvers have a problem with chambers getting fouled making it hard to eject spent rnd's. Sometimes you get lead splatter if you do not clean the area between the cylinder and barrel. I run a wire brush thru the barrel every so often. We, at least I get caught up in the fun that I do not always pay attention to how many rnd's fired untill a problem presents itself before I address it.

I love my SR22, the Sig I had wasn't worth the trouble... if we're going for absolute reliability, get a revolver.

I would normally say SR22, but on my last trip to the range, the damn thing kept getting soft strikes. I bought it new and I've taken it out twice. Clean it every time I use it, like all my guns.

Have you taken the firing pin out and cleaned it?

So is that Heritage Arms 22 a piece of crap? I mean $160 bucks!
Don't believe that . My brother & I both have one. It shoots EVERYTIME!. Also have the 22mag cylinder, same performance.
Sure there are more expensive 22 revolvers out there. But for the occasional shooter, you can't ask for more.
