If I shoot someone an I have a permit to carry will I go to jail

I dunno. If you have your driver license and run someone over... will you go to jail?

I strongly suggest you take a CCW class. That should answer your question. Or better yet, study your states gun laws.

it's not a permit to kill it's a permit to lawfully defend yourself with a gun if necessary and even then you could wind up in jail till the case goes to trial just look at george zimmerman a man who shot in self defense ........

Yes. You will.
Cut and dry. Yes you will.

You will also loose you license both for guns and cars . All your guns. And all your money.

They will also take you car and house.
Oh and you will also become a registered sex offender just so you won't be near children because you will be a danger to them.
You will be nothing more then a criminal.

EE,
Please don't play into this. It is common knowledge that taking the life of a human in the US is almost always a crime. Anyone considering owning a firearm has to have at least had a fleeting thought of what would happen if they used their firearm. Anyone living in this country, unless they live under a rock, has no doubt seen the exploits of George Zimmerman, John Holmes and others. Hence the OP can answer his own question by sheer deductive reasoning. I encourage him/ her to rethink the question. Perhaps we're missing some underlying, unspoken curiosity here.

My first reaction to this was "you've got to be kidding...right?"

Who is John Holmes? I googled the name and he's a porno actor...Did you mean James?

If you meant James, you realize you're comparing a mass murderer to a person on trial who's defense is that it was self defense. Tens of thousand (and that's an understatement) of people who feel Zimmerman is innocent don't live under a rock, you know that right?

This is a joke,RIGHT.

Jokes are supposed to be funny...the OP didn't even come close...

It makes me wonder how many gun owners go to the anti's website and troll to try and get a response?

What would a similar question be if someone were to go over there and troll? Maybe, "should I sell all my guns and tell my wife that it's ok to be raped because we did the morally superior thing by selling our firearms?" How would they answer that?

New profile, first post, most loaded question you can dream up and bad spelling ... I have a bad feeling about this ...

Laws from state to state vary. But ultimately, if your life is in danger and if you don't shoot, you'll die; that is when you can use lethal force. You'll still get arrested. It'll still cost you thousands in legal fees. Everyone will still know that you shot a person. You & your family will be ostracized. You'll have to battled mentally with the fact that you shot someone, maybe even killed them. You may even be sued by that person's family.

You can't shoot someone for cutting you off in traffic or for flipping you the bird. Movies are bad places to learn about shooting. Take a defensive shooting class. Get some training on shooting & learn the laws in your state.

Perople who carry don't go out looking for people to shoot. They carry to protect themselves & their family.

I hope there are no gun owners out there that dumb, but just in case.. Look up the acronym DR BARKS and castle doctrine in your state. Good place to start

+1.......You need to study up on what it actually means to have a CCW permit and carry a gun.
