Close to mine. Sig C3 Revolution GSR with a 4.25" barrel. But that might change once I try out my Colt Defender Plus. Also like my RIA 1911 CS. And if it doesn't have to be a gun that is fired, Colt Camo Companion. One of only 150 made.Sig 1911 C3, 4" barrel, no rail. beautiful gun, shoots fantastic!
I have three other M1911s, but the Norinco is the one I carry.
- My regular carry M1911 is a full sized Norinco. I bought it for $300 from a friend. I replaced the small internal parts and the grips (which melted during the first cleaning). It's accurate and highly reliable.
- I HATE rails. I don't own a handgun with a rail on it, and wouldn't given a choice.
- I carry Hornady 200gr. TAP.
- My Norinco has the original factory sights, which are slightly different from GI sights, with a three dot system.
If I can ever get back into a real job, I'd like to get a .38 Super. I'm undecided on a full sized or Commander sized gun. I'm looking at Rock Island.
I HAD to replace the firing mechanism parts because they were sheer garbage, and the gun was unreliable until they were replaced. I first noticed something was wrong when I noticed that the hammer was "following", especially when the slide was let forward on an empty chamber. I bought a replacement leaf spring. When I took the mainspring housing off, I found that the factory leaf spring was TOTALLY devoid of any sort of protective coating and was bright red with rust. After my smith replaced the junk parts and did some minor tuning, it's been 100%, with 200gr. TAP, 115gr. Aguila IQ, with 230gr. ball, and with 200gr. LSWC wadcutter handloads.Mine is bone stock except for a 2-piece full lenght guide rod and Wilson 18.5lb recoil spring.

The first time I cleaned the gun, I sprayed the frame out with Gunscrubber. I was surprised to be unable to put the gun down. The grips literally stuck to my hand. The grips were apparently made of something very similar to the polystyrene that model airplane kits used. I replaced the factory grips with Ajax fake ivories, which look very nice on the black parkerized gun.
