Quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read in my life. Is the author not familiar with replacement springs?
50$ for a new magazine V. 12 bucks for a spring
Hmmmm, let me think about it.

It's especially dumb for AR-15 magazines, where rebuild kits are cheap and easy to find.

I do treat my magazines like a shaving razor. When it gets old, I replace the bad parts, not the whole thing.
I don't use disposable razors.

I treat my magazines like toilet paper. I expect them to be at hand when the crap hits the fan.

Sorry.... couldn't resist.

I really don't think that an individual could wear out 10 US military issue mags from the 80s. Maybe would have to eventually replace springs if they were stored loaded. They were all but indestructible....if not indestructible.

You beat me to the punch.... while the article does a good job explaining what mags are out there, he does a horrendous job in saying just toss the mag out if you start having problems. Ummm, replace the spring dumba$$.

It's also, um, on a website that will happily sell you new magazines. After you threw the "old" ones out. On their advice.
