What will you do!

It was not long ago when I would have dismissed most if not all of the conspiracies that are being put forth. Back in 2008 I would not believed we would be where we are today either. But with all that obummer and his minions have done and are doing, I have to wonder how much more is going on that we do not know. So now I always ask myself, "What if this is true!" before I dismiss any of these so called tin foil hat info! History has shown that in other countries many were killed or never heard from again because they refused to believe that their "wonderful and caring" gubment could EVER do anything bad.

I would rather be pleasantly surprised that our gubment is not doing anything bad than have a rude awaking just before I was shoved into the oven!

I do not mean to be aggressive about this, Uncle Fester, but if you trust anything that snopes.com says then you are being lead down the primrose path. Snopes.com is run by libs who have an agenda! They will not allow obummer or other libs be painted with tar!

You raise a good point (what if it really IS true) but I just can't convince myself to buy into it. Sure, I have a few just-in-case preparations made (for whatever silliness may happen) but the left wing staging a coup? Those mamma's boys who need warning labels on every single product in the store to protect themselves from doing something stupid? The one who are so scared of violence that they want to pass laws to disarm the good guys? I just can't see it. That sort of thing would require too much forethought and backbone. Neither of which are in high supply in the liberal camps (in my opinion).
If you want to scare me, tell me the Republicans are going to do it. I could just about see that happening.

Why don't you go see for yourself? There are websites out there listing grid coordinates of the camps. Punch it into Google maps, find the nearest one and drive out there. Keep an open mind and look around for facts. Don't stop as soon as you see a chain link fence with a lock on it and decide it must be true. The folks who are dropping those links are searching "Google Earth" for ominous looking places. Don't let 'em fool you.

What's nice about snopes is that they usually provide their sources, so you can do a quick check to see what their slant is, if they've got one.

Which is why they are head and shoulders above so many other websites out there that are spreading ...information. I've read stuff on their site that described things I am expert in and they were always right on the nose (or as close as a layman is likely to get). I still double check things but I will often look there first. Since I knew that some would claim snopes.com may be part of the plot I went ahead and included the other two links that haven't been mentioned. I really liked the one from Popular Mechanics Magazine. I was surprised to see that one turn up when I "Googled" FEMA camps.

You can find links and write-ups that argue for both sides, sometimes vehemently, and I just wanted to supply a bit of fresh air and a chance for some to see what other people out there think of these tales.

I doubt if anyone will read them, let alone believe any of it ...but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I just want people to think for themselves.

I also want to punch rumormongers in the throat. If you can't make your point with truth then shut the **** up and go home.

I'm a boyscout. Sue me.

I'm a stalwart supporter of truth and fact, which most here can confirm, but you can't always be so easy to condemn people as 'rumormongers'. Many people post what later turns out to be a rumor, but they posted it here honestly believing it was the truth at the time. We shouldn't condemn people for honest mistakes. A true Boy Scout wouldn't. :)

You misunderstand (or I worded it wrong).

I hate the ones who START rumors and knowingly spread lies. The only problem I have with most folks is that they fall all over themselves in a mad rush to share rumors without a moment's thought to verifying them first. I just think of those folks as foolish little sheep. Its the ones who START the rumors that are my enemy.

You said it.
And it's all about CONTROL.
That is exactly what the limp wristed jack wagons want.
CONTROL

Ah. Then I apologize for the misunderstanding.

There aren't enough federal agent in the country to attempt to confiscate weapons. Most of them are gun nuts, too. Even if they had state and local support (good luck with that) the only places I could see it happening would be in the inner cities where most of the guns are unregistered anyway. Jack boots thugs? Still reading gun magazines from the 80's and 90's? I worked around ATF for years. Every agent I knew supported the 2nd Amendment. They only went after those that were prohibited because the were freaking criminals. I agree that there is definitely a gun rights fight on our hands, but any confiscation attempt would be a fruitless adventure at best.

Even with state and local support (good luck with that) they wouldn't be able to accomplish it. If it were to happen they would concentrate on the inner cities where most of the guns are unregistered anyway. In the rural areas? Again good luck with that. Jack booted thugs? Throw out the gun magazines from the 80's and 90's please. I worked around ATF for years and know the majority of agents are supporters of the 2nd Amendment and own plenty of guns themselves. That's why many of them got into the business. The ones I knew supported law abiding citizens and only went after hard core criminals.

I agree there is a gun rights fight on our hands, and if people think The Obama Administration is bad, wait until Hillary becomes President. She'll be brutal on gun owners.

First off... Did you just call us "Gun Nuts?!".
You can apply that title to yourself if you choose but leave me out of that designation.
I am a gun enthusiaste.. Period.
Secondly,
True! Cops LOVE the Second Amendment! As long as it only applies to THEM, not US!
Third,
I have seen and been involved with leo's long enough to observe that the "power" they wield goes straight to their heads.
They believe "they" are the only ones who should be in control.
They are truly the jack booted thugs they present themselves as...

It didn't take you long before you edited up your post did it?
Point proven...
