I was driving around here in washington just on my way back from shooting down at the range. was OCing my kimber ultra crimson carry II .45, however it was late and getting cold so I put my coat on. (yes I have a permit). I was driving down the road when I noticed a disabled vehicle in the center turn lane. being the guy that I am I stopped to help....

ended up pushing the car out of the roadway and down the street a ways so they could park. during the process 1 of the gals at ask to borrow my cell phone to call for someone to come pick them up. nothing odd so far right? when we finally get the car parked the girl with my cellphone had disappeared. Go figure.

naturally I asked her friends to locate her to retrieve my property... it was getting warm after moving the car so I removed my jacket while we waited for them to get ahold of her... then they freaked out thinking I was a police officer and took off running from me and then there ride arrived to then burn rubber in an attempt to bolt out of the situation. luckily for me I notified the police with my buddy cell phone and they happen to be nearby and they showed up. After retrieving my cellphone from the bushes where the girl had ditched it, it ended with three arrests with outstanding warrants and the driver of the getaway vehicle was arrested for criminal possession of a firearm and a trunk full of marijuana with intent to sell.

Not bad for a days worth of work. cops never so much as flinched at my sidearm nor did they give me any trouble.

So instead of helping three people by helping them get their POS car off the street, you helped a whole community by getting three POS people off the street. Well done!

you know I never really felt in danger... I definitely went from casual helping people to automatically on the defensive eyeball on everything. I was particularly pleased that I didn't get overly defensive or didn't overreact or brandish my fire arm in anyway I kept my cool remain calm and they were more afraid of me than I was of them

Just a reminder that a good deed can turn to crap if they had in fact turned on you. But they got scared and ran off to hide which did them no good. Yes you did a good deed, the same as other people would attempt to do on this board I would hope.Good job on your part.

Very true. Situation could have turned out very differently. We were lucky. Had I been alone I probably would not have stopped considering the time and the area of town, but considering I was with my good friend and we were both armed we decided to lend a hand. Once the situation began to change we (mentally) to a step back to re_analyze and simply let the police handle the rest reserving our ability to use or threaten legal force for when its actually a matter of life and death.
