What to use to clean off your brass gun cleaning brushes

What is best To clean off your brass gun cleaning brushes, mineral spirits? Brake cleaner?

Wd 40 and brake cleaner let it soak over night. Clean with gun cleaner. Dry use again.

I use Dawn, the dish washing liquid, cleans them like new in a couple of minutes . I apply dawn then move the bristles under running water for a couple of minutes and they clean right up.
I started doing this after seeing people cleaning oil drenched sea birds after the BP Oil spill.

Re: Break parts cleaner. Can it be gotten in liquid form? I went to three different auto stores AFTER Walmart and all anybody had was aerosol spray.
