My everyday belt isn't working for my EDC (Sig p320 compact), getting past all the advertising hype and gimmicks what should I look for in a carry belt?

Get a purpose designed gun belt. You can find one in leather from Beltman or Nylon from Wilderness Tactical. I prefer the Instructor belt from Wilderness Tactical.

The choice is yours but get one that is designed and advertised specifically as a gun belt

I recently purchased a nice leather gun belt from Bigfoot Gun Belts. Sharp looking and extremely functional. One word of advise , when using the sizing chart add one inch. These belts are thicker than a normal belt as steel sandwiched between leather. Good luck in your search.

Regarding Belts

I am a new gun owner and I seldom wore a belt, but did try the ones I had, but because they weren't 1 & 1/2 inches wide, there was a lag when I pulled out the gun, as the belt had to move up to the top of belt loop on jeans, so I did a lot of looking on the internet. I purchased one from Amazon and I really like it. It is called The Ultimate Concealed Carry Belt. It's made in the USA is premium full grain US leather with a stainless steel buckle. They also give you directions about getting the right size and their directions were much better than those of other belts. Mine fits perfectly. It is also a double thickness, so very sturdy for holding a holster. Also, if you sign on to Amazon thru US Carry part of the proceeds go to some gun benefit (can't remember just which one right now). Also, if you are a prime member with Amazon, there is no shipping charge. Cost was around 50.00, which was also better than others with full grain leather and double thickness.

I got mine from a Home and Farm store here. Actually had 2 different ones to go to. But it is 1 1/2 inch wide and has a steel center between the outer layers. Anyway it was 40 dollars which is the most I have ever paid for any belt but this one is really well made here in the USA with USA materials. There are many places to look including online from some very upstanding manufacturers. The one thing I liked about finding one locally is that I could try it on before buying.
