What to choose?

I am considering buying 1 of 3 pistols : 1st the Beretta Nano, 2nd S&W Shield and finally the Kahr CM9 not necessarily in that order. The Nano seems to be the only one available at this time. Not going to let that be a factor but, just looking for opinion. I am going to try and find a range that rents them but, don't know if I'll find all or any of them for that matter. So just looking for likes and dislikes of each. Thanks in advance

I can only speak for what I own...CM9...and it is the perfect pistol for me. No bad issues whatsoever with this Kahr. If you do go with the CM9, there is a procedure you should consider before firing it... provided by KahrTalk Forums:

The following link is a lube chart for Kahrs:

You may also find,(like MANY Kahr shooters) that the backstrap surface is in need of taming to avoid sore web on your shooting hand....ergo, the following link (I opted for the rubber surface TALON grip over the sand paper type, and I have had no issues since I installed it).

There are also a couple of youtubes you may want to watch for a bit of info concerning the Kahr (after you see the first, youtube supplies the link to #2)

Good luck with whatever you choose

Never fired the CM9 or the Nano but love my Shield. Very comfortable to carry IWB. Well built. Never had an issue.

I would go with it in this order:
1) Shield but i'd rather go w/ their SD9VE
2) CM9 but i'd rather go w/ their CW9
3) Nano but i'd rather go w/ their 84FS
ESPECIALLY if this is going to be your first gun- don't make it too compact. I know sub comps are more "stylish" but they really are not practical. even the KAHR CW9s barrel is too short. the gun is only about 15-16oz. And if you're wondering about the difference between Kahr's CM/CW vs PM/PW line... the P line is more expensive but why when they seem almost identical? true- they are almost identical. The only diff is adjustable sights & conventional vs. polygonal rifling (not going to affect accuracy very much at close range) - but polygonal is better.

Where (on your body) are you going to carry the gun? I pocket carry and could not find a better gun for me than the Kahr PM9. If you are going to pocket carry, wear what you normally wear and empty out a pocket to try the different guns out. I was looking at the KelTec PF9 and the Ruger LC9 and they were both a little large for my jean pockets. I also wanted a stainless steel gun because of sweat in the summer months.

I pocket carry my Keltec PF9 and it's fine in the pocket. I have to wear cargo pants which doesn't bother me. I just want something better than my Keltec.

I'm planning to get a Beretta Nano, potential pocket carry 9mm.

PM9/ CM9 is 5.4'' l x 4'' h x .9 slide (1.1 at slide release)
Nano is 5.6" l x 4.2" h x .9 slide
Bodyguard j-frame is 6.4" l x 4.3" h x 1.3" cylinder

I had a Kel-Tec PM9 for a few years but eventually sold it, overall it was a good little pistol; I would pocket carry it in a Desantis holster.
I had a Kel-Tec PF9 and didn't keep it too long, concerns about its long term durability & lack of night sights.
I will not buy any handgun with an internal lock, so the Shield / S&W wouldn't even be considered.

My current pocket pistol is a P3AT, but I would prefer a 9mm over a 380
