Just giving you guys an update. I head back from the firearms LEO and he told me he will only issue me a FID card because I have no training or experience. I told him I already have an FID card and have had training since I was 12 years old. I have taken three classes over the years and shoot regularly. I have also been a firearm owner since age 18 (when I was able to purchase one). I am a gun club member where I shoot. I feel like I am constantly running into road blocks in my pursuit to obtaining what I want. I am hoping at the very least I get a restricted class a ltc. I will not give up on this. Does anyone have any suggestions, besides move to NH, because that right now isn’t do-able. In a few years though it will be, and I defiantly will be moving there. Any help you guys could provide will be appreciative. I really don't know what to do. Thanks guys!
Have you taken the required Basic Pistol course ? (required by MGL)
A Hunters Education Certificate isn't enough for
handguns (although SOME towns will accept it )
DO NOT ACCEPT a FID .
Are you over 21 ? (required for handguns)
And make sure you tell the bastard LO (license officer) that you need to do ISPA and other competition shooting , HANDGUN SPEED SHOOTING.
To MOVE or NOT to move :
If you work in Mass, just rent an apt/move to a
Link Removed close to your job
because if you move to NH, you will still need a Mass LTC to carry in Massachusetts, altho LTC-ALP is guaranteed to non-resident, the cost is $100 PER YEAR
If you don't care about carrying concealed in Mass and you work near N.H. you can get 1 bedroom for about $500-$700 in Salem, NH ... $800-$100 for 2-bedrooms.
DO NOT ACCEPT A FID.
Theres two firearms lawyer on
here
, Cross-X and Scrivenger, talk to them, it may cost you ~$500 to process but you're almost guaranteed a LTC-A ( may still be restricted depending on Danvers policy )
N.H. is nice, I lived there as a child many years ago.
Again,
DO NOT ACCEPT A FID.
