What is a good 22 cal. handgun for target shooting?

I'm looking at getting a 22cal. hand gun for target shooting, I want a good one at a good price and was wondering which one would be good and dependable gun. I carry a Glock 26 most of the time, but I have Rugers, Beretta, Kimber, all ranging from 380 to 45 cal, I like all of those guns and brands and they have been dependable.
What do you think?

I hear the Beretta Neos, and Ruger Mark series are good pistols, the S&W .22 line looks really good as well. I'd tell you to get an M&P in .22 but for 419 MSRP, you can buy a 9mm or something like that. The M&P is an amazing pistol, I love my 9mm, accurate, reliable, and no FTF/F or FTE. Hope this helps you out!

I have always had and do own the Ruger Mark pistols, my first one was a Mark II 5-7/8 " barrel tapered blue ( you can find these for around $180-$230 used today) ...today I have the Mark III blue bull barrel :D ...except for the very rare FTE or FTF (because of cheap ammo) I've never had any problems with them. I highly recommend them.

Ruger Mark series, had it for years and not a single problem. Also have a Ruger Super Single Six with the LR and Magnum cylinders. Very accurate and durable. The magnum gives it a real kick and it is 7/8th the size of a Blackhawk series.
Both guns are fun to shoot and you'll find yourself going through a lot of ammo.

Ruger buck mark. .22

HUH? Ruger or Browning Buck Mark?

I prefer the Ruger Mark series, some have said the Mark III's are not as good and the Mark II's, but don't know for sure. Ruger has always made a fine, durable 22LR pistol.

I have had a S&W (622) and is turned out to be a POS, believe that is why they quit making it.

But these are plinking guns, not necessarily good for practice with for your CCW training.

I swear by Ruger Mark III. I have one with the stainless bull barrel and form-fitted grip. I took a pic (below) with my Mac.

I fell in love with the Ruger Mark series when I shot an old Mark I at the range one day and couldn't miss.

The Mark series is kinda tricky when re-assembling from a thorough cleaning, but once you get the hang of it, it's a snap. I usually clean mine with a snake.

I wouldn't recomend the Browning Buckmark. Constant jamming, I tried defferint ammo, it seemed to only like cci blazer, everything jammed.

I've only had issues with my Buckmark when it is really cold. it won't cycle. It is a pretty gun with it's wood grips.

I have a barreta neos. Probably have
5000 rounds through it, maybe more. Hard to keep track when you buy the 500 brick at a time and can go through that in one day messing around. Other then the occasional soft load not cycling the action properly. It's been totally reliable. Dead accurate, if I do my part. Also easy to clean.
The rear sight screw has been moving on me lately. I'll have to put something on those threads.
I was told to buy the Ruger, when I asked about a 22 pistol. I have to say, I'm completely happy with the neos for its purpose. I can hit to 50 yds and keep a pretty good group. The groups size is on me. Not the pistol.

Another one to check out would be ATI GSG 1911. Looks solid and is about the same weight as an aluminium framed 1911 for about $310 at BUDS.

For my pistol training, Ruger 22/45.
For my revolver training, an S&W K22 Masterpiece.
For rifle training, a Winchester Model 52.

I know it doesn't have the best reputation, but I have had a Browning Buckmark for about a year and I have had no problems with it at all....very pleased with it.

I have a mark I ruger with the short barrel. It's was my wife's grandfathers and was handed down to me. I have put a few 1000 rounds through it. I have no idea how many rounds have been through it though.

It's accurate and the kids love shooting it. I have only had to replace the return spring in the action. Pretty easy and cheap to do. It's a great gun and eats anything I put in it.

best .22 target revolver

A no brainer....S&W model 17 w/6" bbl with Target trigger, hammer and stocks.
