What do you think about NY giving morning after pill to 14 year olds?

It seems that New Your City has started a program that will allow 14 year old girls to receive a morning after pill to stop them from getting pregnant, the City sent out a letter to the parents saying “you need to send this back if you don’t want them to have it”, It should have said “you need to send this back if you want them to have it”, big difference isn’t it. Only 1% of the letters were returned, I wonder how many of those letters were intercepted and thrown in the trash before the parents saw them? I just want to know WHO IS PAYING FOR THIS.

Who is paying is most likely the very same people who would be paying for the care of the 15 year old unwed mother and child. Just less money

While I don't agree with giving those pills to 14 year olds without parental consent I gotta give you that one.

Who's going to be held responsible when these girls die from blood clots? That is one of the more serious side effects.

So, in NYC you have to get your parent's permission to get your ears pierced as a minor, but not to get an abortifacient? WTF??

This is a hard subject because the vast majority of parents don’t want to connect with their children where it comes to talking about all the various aspects of being sexually active. Sad very sad.

OK. lets think this through. A 14-year old intercepts and throws away a letter to her parents that might prevent her from obtaining birth control. Why do you think she would do that? Perhaps because she is sexually active and doesn't want to be pregnant? Do you think that a sexually active 14-year old is going to stop having sex because of a risk of pregnancy? a 14-year old so intent on having sex that she intercepts a letter about birth control is going to say "oh well, I can't have sex anymore because my parents won't allow me access to birth control."

Right.

OK. lets think this through. A 14-year old intercepts and throws away a letter to her parents that might prevent her from obtaining birth control so her boyfriend can get off and not break up with her. Why do you think she would do that? Perhaps because she is being pressured by the boy to become sexually active and doesn't want to be put down? Do you think that a randy 14-year old boy should not have the right to have tax payer funded sex because of a risk of pregnancy? If he gets some girl pregnant he can still get a tax payer funded abortion or get the girl signed up for tax payer funded welfare food stamps and housing. Then he can go get another girl pregnant too.
Jeez.
